The holiday countdown is in full swing, but let’s pause for something just as important—rest, reflection, and a little celebration. Hello, my high-achieving warriors! 💜 Salima here with your Therapy Thursday reminder: growth doesn’t only come from hustle—it also comes from honouring your wins. The end of the year often has us focused on unfinished tasks or unachieved goals. But what if we flipped the script? Instead of dwelling on what’s left, let’s celebrate what we’ve accomplished. Acknowledging your wins, big or small, reinforces resilience. It reminds you of the progress you’ve made, even when the road feels long and exhausting. For those of us balancing high expectations, this practice is a game-changer. This season, take a moment to reflect. Maybe you navigated a challenging project, set boundaries for the first time, or simply managed to prioritize yourself amid the chaos. Every win counts, and each one reflects your strength and determination. Share one win from this year in the comments. Let’s spark a community of gratitude and inspiration as we close out 2024 on a high note. Remember, self-care is selfish AND 100% essential—and celebrating yourself is a vital part of that care. 💜 💜P.S. Learn the secrets and tools to prioritizing yourself and pushing past the perfectionist in us all. Celebrating Rebuild Your Life Month. Tip #3 Stand In The Now June is Rebuild Your Life Month. We have overcome so much over the last two years. We are ready to let go of the anxiety, fear, exhaustion, and disconnection. From this, we want to rebuild our life. We want to purposefully create a new life. How? "Stop Trying To Predict The Future." Our apprehension and worry about the future keeps us stuck. 'Is this all there is?' 'Maybe it will always be this way!' We need to let go of the 'what ifs' and focus in on the what is and what can be. Start Here: Focus on what you do have control over, not what you don't have control over. You have control over what you do, your routines, what you say, what you watch, who you connect with.... Take one action, no matter how small. The process of rebuilding is not a giant leap. It is one small step at a time. Give yourself permission to fail. You likely will. And that's okay. But just as I am sure that there will be failures and let downs, I am also sure that there will be successes. Remember: Stand in the now. Learn to be happy in the here and now. Take notice of what brings you joy, tranquility, and connection, and savour those moments. Please react, comment, and share this post with others. Celebrating Rebuild Your Life Month. Tip #2 Disrupt Old Patterns June is Rebuild Your Life Month. We have overcome a lot over the last four years. We are ready to let go of the anxiety, fear, exhaustion, and disconnection. We want to rebuild. We want to purposefully create our new life. How? "You are the CEO of your life. Hire. Fire. And Promote." You can not keep doing some of the same old things and expect to rebuild a new life. Repeating old habits keeps you stuck. Start Here: Examine your beliefs, values, and the rules that you have held to be true. Are they helping or hindering you? If they are hindering you from moving forward...release them. (Fire Quickly) Let go of the past. Be compassionate for your past. Give yourself a second, third, fourth ... chance to start again. (Hire) Change things up. Look at everything from the moment you get up in the morning until you put your head down to sleep at night. What patterns are you stuck in that are sucking the life energy from you or causing you to be frustrated? Fire these! What activities bring you energy? Hang on to these (Promote!) Remember: The richer your imagination, the richer your life will be. So don't be afraid to step into new routines and new rituals. Let your imagination bring about new possibilities to do the things that you need to do to get where you want to be. Please react, comment, and share this post with others. Celebrating Rebuild Your Life Month. Tip #4 Replenish Your Energy June is Rebuild Your Life Month. We have overcome so much over the last two years. We are ready to let go of the anxiety, fear, exhaustion, and disconnection. From this, we want to rebuild our life. We want to purposefully create a new life. How? "Nurture your mind, body, heart, and soul." We have been drained of our reserves. We have less patience, and less room for caring, and our spark may be dwindling. It is time to focus on reigniting that spark. Start Here: Focus on self-care. Mind - slow down, set boundaries and know when to shut it down at the end of the day, learn something new, meditate, Body - focus on getting up and moving. Put good energy (food) into your body, so that you can have the energy to do the things that you desire to do. Sleep, rest, and relax. Heart - be grateful, smile more, connect with others, volunteer. Soul - nurture good thoughts, connect to nature, ground yourself, travel more. Remember: Self-care is not selfish. It is essential and necessary as we rebuild our life. Treat yourself like the most important person in your life...because you are. There is a saying that I love..."How thin can I spread myself before I no longer exist" If I don't take care of myself, I will have nothing left to give to those in my life who I value and love. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐁𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟? End of the year can be rough. Celebrations, family get-togethers, and social events swirl around us, often amplifying feelings of exhaustion, grief, loss, and loneliness. It's important to be mindful of those around you who might be struggling during this time. And it's equally important to extend that same to yourself. ... But how hard is it to actually be kind to yourself? It is common advice given and I have given plenty of it. When it was given to me recently, I felt annoyed. It made me wonder, how hard is it to truly practice self-compassion? And does it really help? It sounds simple, but self-kindness can be surprisingly tough. Why? 😬𝐖𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦: Many of us have a well-practiced inner critic quick to point out flaws and magnify mistakes. 🫣 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: True self-compassion is about understanding, not letting ourselves off the hook. 😶🌫️ 𝐔𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Social media and society often set impossibly high standards, making self-acceptance a challenge. 🫠 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Being kind to ourselves requires acknowledging our struggles and limitations, which can be uncomfortable. These challenges can feel magnified during the holiday season, especially when you're dealing with exhaustion, grief, loss, or loneliness. So, how do we overcome these hurdles? 🎤 Notice your inner dialogue. How often are you critical of yourself? 🤔 Challenge negative thoughts: Would you say those things to a friend? If not, reframe them with compassion. 🛁 Practice self-care: Prioritise your well-being through healthy habits and activities that bring you joy - say no more. 👌 Embrace imperfection: Everyone makes mistakes. Accept yourself, flaws and all. ✌ Celebrate small victories: Acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small. 🩹 Allow yourself to feel: Give yourself permission to grieve and heal. Being kind to yourself and others is an ongoing journey. #selfcompassion #wellbeing #mentalhealth #kindness #selfcare #personalgrowth #grief #loss #loneliness #holidays
