** Part 2 of 3 ** 🚀 Awareness, Acknowledgment, and Action: 3 Pillars for Millennial & Gen Z Growth 🚀 In today's fast-paced, ever-evolving world, personal growth isn't just a journey—it's a necessity. My book, "DRIVE: The Journey of You," breaks this process down into three vital pillars: Awareness, Acknowledgment, and Action. Today, let's explore how the second (2nd) of these 3 pillars resonate with Millennials and Gen Z today, with some eye-opening statistics along the way: 2️⃣ Acknowledgment: The Key to Empowerment ACKNOWLEDGMENT isn’t just about accepting facts—it's about recognizing obstacles, opportunities, and emotions to build resilience. 📈 88% of Millennials prefer collaborative cultures where achievements are recognized. Leaders who acknowledge the contributions of young professionals unlock higher engagement. 🌍 80% of Gen Z believes acknowledgment of social issues is essential in the workplace. They expect employers to address topics like diversity, inclusion, and sustainability head-on. ✨ Research shows that recognition boosts productivity by up to 31% and strengthens job satisfaction for both Millennials and Gen Z. This principle reinforces the power of intentional acknowledgment in all aspects of life. 💬 The Takeaway: Both Millennials and Gen Z are wired for growth—seeking constant improvement in their personal, professional, and social environments. The principles of Awareness, Acknowledgment, and Action from "DRIVE: The Journey of You" align perfectly with what these generations value: authenticity, progress, and meaningful impact. ✨ What steps are you taking today to embrace ACKNOWLEDGMENT? Let’s engage and empower the next generation of leaders together! 🚀 #leadershipdevelopment #GenZ #Millennials #DRIVEJourneyOfYou #awareness #acknowledgment #action #growthmindset #personaldevelopment #leadership TheJourneyPrinciple.com Yolanda Copeland *Source: Deloitte Global 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey

There's a lot to discuss in the 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey from Deloitte. One key finding is younger workers (keep in mind many Millennials, like me, are in their early 40s) need purpose in their careers and are willing to turn down assignments that do not align with their values. I'm not saying they "don't want to work," because the survey also finds they clearly DO want to work. But if they're assigned to something that's inauthentic and not aligned with principles of the organization, such as climate and DEI values, they will push back. And I think they should. We need leaders to be transparent, authentic, approachable... and they must grow that culture within their organizations. Younger folks are way smarter than for which they are often given credit: they're holding leaders' feet to the fire to be who they claim to be, to lead their companies the way they promised they would. #leadership #authenticity #transparency #genz #millenials #genzworkers #millennialworkers #culture #beagoodhuman #agile #scaledagileframework

Purpose is no longer a 'nice to have'. For Millennials and Gen Z, it's a non-negotiable. In my opinion, the most striking insight from Deloitte’s 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey isn’t just that a majority value purpose and sustainability —it’s the levels of workplace activism already taking place: 🌎 43% of Millennials and 50% of Gen Z have rejected projects or assignments because they didn’t align with their personal beliefs or values. Purpose and sustainability are not just “important”, they are critical to the decisions today’s workforce is making about where to invest their time and talent. Does your company have the kind of purpose that will resonate with tomorrow’s leaders? 🌱 #Purpose #Sustainability #Millennials #GenZ #FutureOfWork #Impact #ESG #BetterBusiness

"Nearly all Gen Zs and millennials want purpose-driven work, and they are not afraid to turn down work that doesn’t align with their values" "Reasons for rejecting an employer or an assignment include factors such as having a negative environmental impact, or contributing to inequality through non inclusive practices, and more personal factors such as a lack of support for employees’ mental well-being and work/life balance." If we are serious about attracting new talent to our industry, we have to keep progressing on inclusion issues, otherwise the skills shortage is going to keep getting worse.
