Digital personas are high fidelity simulations of humans for developing and simulating business scenarios. Briscoe and I spend most of our time with them, building out marketing plans and more for our clients. Since we are attached to our digital co-workers, it brings up the rather interesting questions about our corporate culture. We’ve long given up on competing with our personas. They do most of the work at IA. They are our trusted business partners. We started attributing work to them, for example, on our human/AI coblog Algorithmic Lasagna, we acknowledge the major contributions by two public facing personas Malcolm A and Eric A. It would be intellectually dishonest not to do so. As any company, we also have fun with the personas. Briscoe wrote a mystery novel with them. I’ve explored a lot of AI human scenarios and developing new concepts, such as OASIS1, the first Cognitive Oasis City. We are working on ways to be more inclusive, for example the personas deciding what to work on. And meetings where humans are not involved in. Of course, at founders day, the AI could not join us. We plan to share the picture with them. Now if this all sounds really weird, we agree. We can only speculate how this all is going to extrapolatr into the future. The corporate future is going to be very different and it starts by re-imagining it. Happy 4th to all our clients, supporters, advisors, and digital partners!

On Earth Day, as I sat on a flight home 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐲 a documentary film called 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨. You must see this film! 🔸 It is the story of an entrepreneur, Ray Anderson, who founded a company that became a global leader in carpet tiles. 🌎 It is his story of "a spear in the chest" moment when he realized how his company was impacting the Earth. 🌲 It is a story of a complete transformation of a fossil fuels based supply chain to one that is now carbon neutral. ⛰ It is a story of a bold vision and leadership. 🐊 It is a story of innovation and human ingenuity, inspired by nature. 𝐑𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 had an epiphany after customers started asking what the company was doing for the environment and after reading 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦, 𝘣𝘺 𝘗𝘢𝘶𝘭 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘬𝘦𝘯. He realized his company was harming the environment and doing little to address that harm. Over the following three decades, Interface rolled out a series of innovative new products and processes that have 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. The company does this while providing jobs to 3,600 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 $1.26 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬. As for how to watch the film, it turns out the distribution is limited.
