Focus is not linear. Focus naturally ebbs and flows. Concentration isn't about holding focus without ever breaking; it's about how quickly and effectively you can bring your attention back to the task after a distraction. Here are 3 ways to train your ability to refocus: 𝟭) 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: Our cognitive focus often follows our visual focus 𝟮) 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Practicing to bring your attention back to a focal point helps train your brain to refocus. 𝟯) 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀: After intense focus, it is important to allow periods of undemanding activities to let the brain rest. I'll be sharing the exact practices to train your concentration in this week's 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 N𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿. Subscribe for free here: https://lnkd.in/g3tgFvAc

Consider This: Our brains rely on patterns from past responses, which are more predictive than reactive. Each pause and mindful breath you take helps lay the foundation for new, positive habits. Reflection & CALL TO ACTION: Identify an emotion that often challenges you. How might taking a breath and pausing help rewire your brain's automatic response? #AlignAndLead #BringingWorkplacesTogether This week, we're focusing on Align-Self, one of three domains of the Tresane model. Shifting from Left to Right - A Creative Exercise Are you a righty or a lefty? How much time do you spend in left-brain (analytical) versus right-brain (creative) activities? While we tend to naturally gravitate towards one or the other (I’m a lefty), it's beneficial to challenge both sides of the brain to enhance your cognitive flexibility and overall productivity. So, today, I’d like to invite you to try shift from the dominant left-hemisphere mode to the subdominant right. Draw a simply symmetrical shape. Start with your dominant hand and draw one half of the shape (e.g. a vase). Then finish off the other side with your non-dominant hand. Notice how this shift feels. 😊✍️ Another way of doing this was shared by Jodi Rose in a recent Peaceful Productivity session.
