Excuses never helped anyone accomplish anything. Excuses are a self-fulfilling prophecy for failure. Earlier this week, I shared my mindset keynote, “Nobody Cares, Work Harder” with a phenomenal group of leaders. The presentation focuses on several key elements to develop the mindset of a champion. Mindset is the foundation of success. The best part is that mindset is a choice. Here is a short, yet impactful segment. I’m interested to hear your thoughts. What do you think are the key elements to develop the mindset of a champion? As my grandmother used to say, 'Excuses never got nothin' done."
I absolutely agree with your sentiment and I have had to work on my mindset over the past 10+ years. Reading Dr Carol Dwecks book “mindset” was an eye opener. Luckily I had a great example in my mother to show me how to overcome adversity rather than make excuses 🩷 In my 20’s & 30’s I was driven, hungry, ambitious and determined. I was promoted, innovative, and added value, all while managing a hidden disability so it wouldn’t impact my job. Last year I found out that I am neurodivergent, this was a huge shock to me and yet explained so much! In a world designed for neurotypicals, let’s make it easier for neurodivergent people to set boundaries so they can succeed too 🩷🩵💜🧠
Well said, Danny Langloss! Excuses can be barriers to progress, and adopting a positive mindset is crucial for success. Recognizing that mindset is a choice empowers individuals to take control of their thoughts and attitudes. It's a reminder that cultivating a resilient and growth-oriented mindset can significantly impact one's ability to overcome challenges and achieve goals. 🌟💪 🧠 Excellent share, Danny! Thank you.
Excuses annihilate success. 💯 Danny Langloss! Great share.
Excuses are just a sense of relief for not taking full charge of your capacities, thanks for sharing. 🙏🙂
True
If we repeat anything long enough we accept it as truth. Excuses are dangerous. What we believe turns up in the results we get. Brilliant.
Excuses are your fast track to failure
We have to be willing to recognize that all things that we want require us to give our focused efforts. Great keynote topic Danny Langloss

9moPowerful words here Danny Langloss. Often hard to remove excuses from the conversation as everyone wants to “prove” they didn’t fail or show why they made the choices as opposed to being confident enough to admit things didn’t go well and show the commitment to learn from it and make it right. As long as excuses don’t prevent the owning, the learning or the making it right, I can listen. It is when they get in the way of moving forward or consume the energy that admittedly I get frustrated.
