Here is a very interesting report on the state of our water main's, with some important key facts. Did you know the average leakage rate in the USA and Canada is 11% and that there are 260,000 water main breaks a year! Pressure management is one way to reduce both of these. https://ow.ly/q6PJ50QR7og

Very important point to note : Do not #storeoil in open area directly exposed to sun and rain. Always keep then in a covered place and preferably store them horizontally. #oilstorage #cleanoil #Dryoil

Proper Storage of Oil drums are important! Always follow the correct procedures! Outdoor is not recommended and risky! Horizontal storage is the preferred way! Always keep oil DRY and CLEAN! #perfectfiltration 👌

It’s crucial to avoid storing oil in open areas where it can be directly exposed to sunlight and rain. Exposure to these elements can degrade the oil’s quality and lead to contamination. Always store oil in a covered location to protect it from environmental factors. Ideally, the oil should be stored horizontally to prevent water ingress and ensure even distribution of any additives. For added protection, using a plastic barrel cover is highly recommended. These covers provide an extra layer of defense against dust, debris, and moisture, further preserving the oil’s integrity. Additionally, regularly inspect the storage area for any signs of leaks or damage to the containers, and ensure that the storage environment is clean and dry. Proper storage practices will help maintain the oil’s performance and extend its shelf life.

DRBC has added flow FORECASTS to the daily flow profile plots on the dashboard at https://lnkd.in/e8JvSvT Plots show daily mean observed and forecasted flow for both the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. Forecasted flows are daily mean forecasts from NOAA's National Water Prediction Service. Substantial increases in flow are forecasted.

Too often I hear decisions being made based on ease of integration. What is being done to manage your decision flow? We often have clients that when we root cause their machine or building failure modes, it boils down to one bad decision based on lack of education. In this instance, the water in the oil could have a follow through affect that causes catastrophic machine failure! What's more painful, a quick on-floor discussing potential failure modes and countermeasures? Or a blown gearbox, 1-3+ weeks lost throughput, maintenance overhead, material cost, etc? Be the champion for a reliable process! Ask hard questions before making fast decisions! Make your process work for you, not against you! Need help?
