Daily Lift – June 21, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network All Liars At the Twenty First of Revelation, there are listed eight sins at Verse Eight which result in the loss of souls in the lake of fire. The last on the list, liars, is the only one modified with the adjective “all.” Perhaps this is because there are many ways one can lie. One might bear false witness against another, as forbidden by the Ninth Commandment. One might lie in blasphemy against Deity, as is recorded at the Twelfth of Matthew. One might lie by the propagating of false doctrines, as is pointed out at First Timothy Four. One may also lie by living sinfully and claiming fellowship with God while doing so, according to First John One. Whatever the nature of the dishonesty, warning is given to all liars. Invitation: Will you Believe the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30)? Will you Repent of your sins, without which you will never be forgiven (Luke 13:3,5; Acts 17:30)? Will you Confess faith in Jesus as God’s only begotten Son and that he is the savior of the world (Matt. 10:32-33; Acts 8:37; Rom. 10:9-10)? If you believe, repent and confess, you can be Baptized in water in order to receive the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21). Why not now?

Daily Lift – August 4, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Follow Wrong Often particularly among the young, someone may choose a course of action because “everyone does that.” In reality, what most others seem to do is that which should first be held suspect. At the Seventh of Matthew, the Savior warned that most persons pass over a broadened road and through a widened gate that leads to destruction. Only a relative few travel the narrow road through the smaller gate that leads unto life. It is no wonder, then, that ancient Israel was instructed at the Twenty-Third of Exodus not to follow a multitude to do evil. Many are the followers in this world, while the effective and proper leaders have been far too few. Better it is to lead right than to follow wrong.

Daily Lift – July 13, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Ignorance Itself At the Twelfth of Luke, the Savior taught that punishment is greater for one that knew his master’s will and failed to accomplish it, while punishment is lesser for one who did not know his master’s will, even if that one committed punishable offenses. Because both the knowing and the ignorant servants are ultimately punished, there is really little comfort being offered to the latter. In eternity, all punishment is in hell itself. Whether greater or lesser, can one honestly say there is any place in hell he is content to occupy for evermore? At the Seventeenth of Acts, Paul the apostle declared that God once overlooked ignorance, but now, in view of judgment, commands all men everywhere to repent. Apparently, one of the things of which men are required to repent is ignorance itself.

Daily Lift – June 18, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network A Crown of Life Men who undertake the same type of manual labor often have the same type of calluses to show for it. Those who undertake an unlimited commitment of service to the Savior may be called upon to suffer as did He. The Savior told His apostles that the disciple is not above his master, nor is the servant above his lord; further, it is enough it be so. The manner of difficulty one may be called upon to endure may not be known until it occurs. Hence, a resolve of faithfulness is necessary preparation before the fact. Paul told Timothy that if we endure, we will reign with Him, while the Savior promised at the Second of Revelation, “Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” Invitation: Will you Believe the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30)? Will you Repent of your sins, without which you will never be forgiven (Luke 13:3,5; Acts 17:30)? Will you Confess faith in Jesus as God’s only begotten Son and that he is the savior of the world (Matt. 10:32-33; Acts 8:37; Rom. 10:9-10)? Daily Lift – June 2, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Drive Him Away The Eighth of Matthew’s Gospel records two individuals who were possessed with devils. That some were willing participants with satanic power is evidenced by the sorcerers of Pharaoh at the Seventh of Exodus. At Exodus Twenty-Two, the Mosaic Law placed the penalty of death upon those of similar pursuit and practice. We are assured of the Savior’s superior power over such, for He cast out evil spirits and gave His apostles the ability to do the same. Satan can no longer overpower one against his will, and First Corinthians Ten promises a Divinely provided way of escape from the devil’s temptations. The Fourth of James promises that Satan will flee when resisted. Divine power has often cast him out. Submission to Divine authority will overcome him and drive him away. 10:9-10)? Daily Lift – July 21, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network May Not Proceed At the Fourth of James, we are taught that sin results when one fails to accomplish the good he knows is expected of him. While this principle is true with regard to all things required of us, James makes the point with respect to one’s failure to recognize the relevance of God’s will and providence in every aspect of life. For example, it is fine to spend a year conducting commerce in another city. However, it is not fine to make those plans without considering that God may not provide another day, much less another year, to fulfill those plans. What is proper is to acknowledge God’s involvement in any successes we enjoy, whether past, present, or future. According to His will we may pursue success. Without His will, we may not proceed. 10:9-10)? Daily Lift – November 8, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Day of Rest The portion of the Mosaic Law that we now refer to as the Ten Commandments is recorded at the Twentieth of Exodus. There, the Fourth Commandment enjoined a six day work week, with the seventh day observed as a sabbath, or day of rest. According to the Second of Colossians, Christians are at liberty to observe or not observe a sabbath day, though the Twenty-Sixth of Leviticus indicates the Lord’s insistence upon its observance during the Mosaic age. As the Mosaic era drew near to its close, the Savior pointed out at the Second of Mark’s Gospel that man was not made for the sabbath. Rather, the sabbath was made for man. The Divinely given law acknowledged the importance of six days of labor to achieve necessary tasks and was given for man’s benefit. However, just as much for man’s benefit was the Divine provision for a day of rest. 10:9-10)? Daily Lift – September 30, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Wisdom of God to Save The Seventeenth of Acts tells us that both the residents and visitors to Athens, Greece spent their time in nothing else but to tell or to hear some new thing. About six years after his experience in preaching the Gospel to such an audience, Paul reflected at First Corinthians One that the Greeks had regarded the message as foolishness. The Athenians would have done well to give the Word of God a more receptive hearing, for, even if it were possible for Jehovah to be foolish, which it is not, His foolishness would be wiser than man. Unfortunately, not many regarded as wise by secular standards will receive the calling of the Gospel. Nonetheless, it remains the power and the wisdom of God to save. Invitation: Will you Believe the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30)? Will you Repent of your sins, without which you will never be forgiven (Luke 13:3,5; Acts 17:30)? Daily Lift – April 23, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Meekly Receive the Word The First of James teaches us that it is with meekness that we are to receive the Word of God and that it is the message of that Word which is able to save us. However, one must prepare himself to receive the Word by repenting and being rid of moral filth and evil. In so doing, one takes some of his first steps toward being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer. The Fifth of Hebrews reminds us that even the Savior was obedient to His Father’s will, even unto the suffering He endured. As a result, He is the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him. While redemption was not available without the Savior’s obedience, it is now not possible without our own. Further, we know not what to obey, nor how, unless we meekly receive the Word. 10:9-10)? Daily Lift – November 18, 2024 Daily Lift – Gospel Broadcasting Network Psalm 33:4,5 God’s word is right – literally straight or upright. It is a true guide for us because all that God does is true. All. There is nothing of His word which is false or crooked. We may speak things that are embellished or shaded or just flat-out falsehoods, but God never has and never will; indeed He cannot (Numbers 23:19). We can trust His word with our lives, our very souls – He will not lead us astray. The evidence of His love and goodness is all around us if we will only open our eyes to see (Romans 1:20). This was taken from the book “100% Encouraging” by Gary Bond. 10:9-10)?
