This great quote from Nellie Borrero - Global Inclusion & Diversity Senior Strategy Advisor at Accenture and author of 'Unwavering' - emphasises the distinction between the existence of diversity and the active practice of inclusion! Within the realms of leadership we make choices every day that affect other individuals. We need to ensure that we create inclusive environments that promote equity and respect for ALL individuals in our organisation. And, we have to embrace and encourage diversity, not just tolerate it! This is not an easy path - but it can lead to great success in your business and in you becoming the best leader that you can be. We can make it happen together, so get in touch and let's start the conversation: 🔥flamingleadership.co.uk #diversityinleadership #flamingleadership #mondaymindset #DEI

This week we were exhibiting at the d&i Leaders (Diversity and Inclusion Leaders) Global Forum in London. It was an amazing opportunity for us to have conversations with more leaders of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. What did we notice from our conversations? We noticed that more people need to recognise that Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is about good leadership. Good leaders want equality for their teams, they need diversity in order to talk to people about their lived experience and in order for any organisation to grow they need to be inclusive in order to bring people on the journey with them. Don't box in EDI as something separate to leadership, it is good leadership. #DiverityandInclusion #EqualityandDiveriity

Despite the so-called backlash around DEI lately, it is clear that it is not going anywhere. In fact, many Fortune 100 companies are seeing real progress—from more women and ethnic minorities in leadership roles to creating a pipeline for diverse future leaders. It is about making DEI part of the culture, tracking progress, and supporting the next generation of leaders. When done right, it sparks innovation and success. Recently, UN Women’s 2024 Asia-Pacific Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards received an impressive 600 applications, underscoring the enduring commitment to DEI. So don’t be mistaken—DEI is here for the long run. Earlier today, my colleague, Kathryn Britten FCA launched our insights into how business disruption is being seen differently through male and female eyes. Every leader is different, so averages need to be treated carefully. But the stats show that female leaders see more opportunity from disruption than male leaders, they are more likely to seek support from others to achieve this, and overall feel (slightly) more confident in navigating disruption. Yet women are still woefully under represented at senior levels. I work most closely with businesses on the disruption / opportunity presented by AI, and can certainly see that the level of uncertainty only goes to strengthen the importance of leadership teams that are diverse in experience and perspective.
How are 3,000 C-level and senior business executives around the world responding to disruption, and how might this differ between female and male leaders? This year, for the first time, we have examined the global findings of AlixPartners' annual Disruption Index through the lens of gender – enabling us to answer that question. Launched at the FT Live Women in Business Summit by Partner and Managing Director Kathryn Britten FCA, with a foreword by Vivienne Artz OBE FCSI (Hon) CMgr CCMI AIGP, CEO of the FTSE Women Leaders Review and AlixPartners Senior Advisor, we share our findings in our latest report > https://lnkd.in/eVD99Q2A #WomenLeaders #leadership #diversity #FTWomen

"Traditional leadership programs often focus on “fixing women” From fixing communication styles to adapting leadership styles. But let’s be clear. Women don’t need fixing. Instead, they need the tools to navigate the unconscious gender biases that they face at the workplace. Through our work with organisations such as JLL, Standard Chartered Bank and many more, our work at INCLUDE has seen us implement an evidence-based program that has increased gender representation at the leadership level. Not through fixing women. But rather, supporting them and the wider system. If you’re ready to accelerate your career and learn practical skills to navigate the biases you face, join us for a FREE webinar to learn more about our Women in Leadership Program.
