I strongly endorse this initiative because equal pay isn’t merely a right based on gender, it is a fundamental social and moral obligation. A pay gap based on gender is unjustifiable and perpetuates inequality. It’s time to recognise that fair compensation is essential for building a truly inclusive society, where everyone’s contributions are valued equally. Let’s close the gap, not only for gender equity but for the progress and dignity of all!

We cannot keep propping up systems that do not honour people. The issue of job classification is rooted in inequality. A man/woman who chooses to be the caregiver is regarded as non working spouse. The problem begins with the words non working. We have to do a reclassification and re-evaluation internally. Until we honour unpaid labour and compensate for it we will have inequalities. The formula is to honour each other and acknowledge that each person contributes. A system which allows for everyone to thrive without exploitation is ideal. I posit that the issue is about the narrative that has been spun. The person who leaves home to go to a corporate job and ‘provides’. And yet this system is rooted in evolutionary practices and women established agriculture while men wandered and hunted. Neither was more or less equal than the other it just was the nature of work. Wars and industrialization changed the narrative because during wars women did factory jobs and kept the economy going. After the wars the narrative had to change for biological and practical purposes. People needed to repopulate and thus women stayed home again. It really is about honouring and upholding each other. It’s about decent work and an end to human slavery. Everyone is entitled to cover their basic needs in a way that upholds one’s dignity. Let’s put people first.

So many talented Women, Non Binary individuals find themselves in Counselling due to the poor way they have been viewed & treated within industry …🙏🏼 Caring qualities (of what ever nature) are essential in society and yet never acknowledged or supported.. Part time working .. time out or gaps on professional CVs should not be seen as negative in the work world .. Organisations that enquire to understand these moments are attracting and keeping some of the most talented humans in their fields … Writing off Women & Non Binary individuals after the age of 50 is also impacting countrues economics .. these humans hold knowledge and experience needed to achieve sustainability.. Be an open minded employer and align your Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies positively to enhance your business performance.. In our society, the gender pay gap is not just a statistical disparity; it's a reflection of deeply ingrained systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect women. From informal employment and unpaid domestic work to discriminatory hiring practices and sexist promoting decisions, women face numerous barriers that contribute to the perpetuation of the gender pay gap. The issue begins with restrictive gender roles that dictate traditional expectations of women as caregivers and homemakers, leading to a motherhood penalty where women are penalised in the workforce for taking on caregiving responsibilities. This penalty is exacerbated by discriminatory hiring practices that undervalue women's skills and experiences, further entrenching the gender pay gap. Moreover, the patriarchal structures within our society perpetuate and uphold these inequalities, reinforcing gender norms and expectations that disadvantage women in the workforce. Sexist promoting decisions often result in women being passed over for promotions or advancement opportunities, contributing to the persistence of the gender pay gap. Addressing the gender pay gap requires more than just individual actions; it demands systemic change. It requires challenging restrictive gender roles, advocating for policies that support work-life balance and equal opportunities, and dismantling the patriarchal structures that perpetuate inequality. It's high time for #EqualPay, and it's crucial that we all stand together to demand justice and equality in the workplace.

The #genderpaygap remains a persistent issue, despite being one of the more straightforward United Nations SDGs to address. Even in the year 2024, achieving #genderequality in the workplace is still a distant goal. According to statistics women apply to the positions they think they are competent in for 100%, men - only 60%! Women who ask for a praise in their first position sets themselves to a significant difference in their career path. In Ukraine still many women don't ask the question of payment at a job interview or feel extremely unconfident to set a real proper price for their professional services. Patriarchy taught us how to serve the family, community, a team, a group, put the needs of others first and is still planishing those women who don't obey the rules of patriarchal system in multiple ways. by gender pay gap, by unproportiotional care job load, by glass ceiling, by misogyny and inner misogyny, by reproductively pressure and gynecological violence, by setting too high expectations, by asking always to be good and it is never enough, by promoting sexualissation by beauty, fashion and cinematography, by putting obstacles for representation at the rooms where decision are made, by nepotism even in civil society sector, by pandemic of domestic violence, sexual harassment and abuse at working space, academia and schools, by injustice, and by war crimes and crimes against humanity. UN Women I am with you. I stand for the compliance of CEDAW and other international and national law, and remind that women's rights are human rights.
