Accounting firm ASE Group does not do taxes on April 15, and its employees don't work Fridays. That's the vision founder Al-Nesha Jones, CPA, MBA conjured up when she asked herself: "What would tax season look like if we had our way?" Flexibility was a foundational principle for Jones in establishing her New Jersey-based practice in 2016, after she felt rushed back to work at her corporate job following maternity leave.

This is one of the most significant days of the year at any CPA advisory firm – and Herbein is no exception. April 15 is the culmination of months of tremendous effort from our professionals, and annually, I am grateful for, and in awe of, their exceptional client service. And while the years change, the core of every busy season remains the same: a high volume of work, tight deadlines, and the necessity for meticulous accuracy, all compounded by the ever-evolving landscape of tax and accounting regulations. Like every year at our firm, April 15 is a big deal, and with good reason. However, while our team may briefly exhale a sigh of relief, the break is short-lived. This might surprise you, and it has for the many who have asked me over the years how Herbein professionals occupy their time outside of busy season. The prevailing perception is that from April 16 onwards – and continuing through to December, when busy season ramps up again – our firm’s workload diminishes substantially. Let's examine that notion (forgive the bad CPA pun) for a moment. Beyond busy season, our team remains steadfast in serving clients as trusted business advisors – and their impact transcends the calendar. Our team offers comprehensive year-round services, which encompass, but are not limited to, a wide range of business advisory consulting. Our professionals actively seek opportunities to innovate and add value. Whether it's identifying cost-saving measures, optimizing operational efficiencies, or providing strategic guidance for growth, they’re committed to driving success for our clients 365 days a year. Finally, our team is dedicated to professional development, staying up to date on tax laws and other regulations, and refining its processes – all of which helps them be even better at what they do. April 15 is a yearly reminder of the deservedly vital role busy season plays in our profession. And again, I would like to thank our team for their hard work and dedication to excellence during this period – while recognizing that their commitment extends well beyond today’s deadline. Our team works tirelessly throughout the year, serving clients across various disciplines and making a meaningful impact, long after busy season draws to a close. #herbein #teamherbein #drivingsuccess

Big Accounting Firms Are Losing Ground—Here’s Why Tax Professionals Should Partner with Me The accounting industry is seeing a major shift. Over the past few years, large accounting firms have faced significant client loss, with 50% of mid-sized companies saying they plan to switch to smaller firms in the next two years. Why? It boils down to better rates, more personalized services, and the ability to adapt quickly to client needs. Clients are no longer willing to pay big-firm fees for cookie-cutter solutions. In fact, studies show that 73% of businesses feel smaller firms provide better service and more flexible pricing. This creates a huge opportunity for tax professionals like you. If you’re working at a large firm, it may be time to think about the next step in your career. I’ve already partnered with numerous small and mid-sized firms that are thriving due to this industry shift. These firms offer more client interaction, more control over your work, and a chance to see the direct impact of your efforts—without the red tape of big firms. I have agreements in place with these firms and am actively looking for top tax professionals to connect with. If you're ready to be part of this movement, let’s talk. The accounting world is changing fast, and there's no better time to explore new opportunities. Over 40% of tax professionals are considering making a move this year—don’t get left behind. Let’s discuss your next career step. #TaxProfessionals #AccountingTrends #SmallFirmAdvantages #CareerGrowth #NewOpportunities

I will do it when! After tax Season? After vacation? After the summer is over? After when? Do it tomorrow is a decision. Not doing anything about it is a decision. Today (OK Monday) is the land of opportunity. Finding the time is a choice and not a sacrifice. We are talking about your future here. Many of my clients say "I'm sorry I waited so long". "I just never seemed to get around to it." "Thank you for asking and offering your help." Make next week the week you say yes to doing what you have been putting off doing. Building the accounting practice you envisioned when you started out. Have a great weekend. #profitablepracticepro #takeaction #accountants #cpa #taxaccountant
