The market is early and often CDR suppliers and buyers have to build not only first of a kind plants but also the required contracts - this takes a great deal of time and effort. We hope that our contract helps to create standardized terms and language to accelerate deal sining and getting projects build more quickly!

It’s not often that we get a glimpse under the hood of offtake agreements. But last week, Frontier, the Stripe-led advance market commitment that has to date contracted $317 million in carbon removal, sought to give the market an unusual leg up by publishing the template it uses for offtake agreements. The deadline for sustainable UK funds to publish a label according to the Financial Conduct Authority’s Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) is today. Although Foresight Solar is out of scope of the regulation because of our Jersey registration, the Directors believe the fund’s inherent sustainability features, our London listing, and the characteristics of our shareholder base naturally led to seeking equivalence to SDR. So, as outlined in the 2023 annual report, we committed to determining an equivalent label and to addressing the necessary compliance requirements. CMS Portugal has advised Helexia on the acquisition of Portuguese electric mobility pioneer company, Bluecharge. David Hone - I much appreciate the back story. Project development can be messy and innovation takes time. Problem is that #CCS have been boondoggles. Billions of subsidy dollars afforded by taxpayers in the USA, Canada, Europe have not yielded the promised/expected results nor the environmental impact by any stretch. Even more, #CCS are seen as O&G trying to prolong what the majority of people would like to discontinue. Further, the sheen of environmental efforts that Shell (and peers) are trying to demonstrate lacks credibility in view of the consistent 'now on, now off' stances to transition to renewable technologies. Examples of promises abound but a more recent action underlying this effort is Shell and Chevron's legal fight to prevent investor groups like Follow This | Shareholders change the world from exercising oversight.
