Wonderful step towards augmenting GenAI features with Uipath

"How is GenAI automation different from RPA?" I get this question regularly, and my standard response is, RPA was on the right track with the business value proposition and the use cases. It's just that with GenAI and LLMs, it's supercharging business automation because of the ability of these LLMs to have more conversational interactions with users and also for their reasoning abilities. Thankfully, I had the chance to chat with RPA veteran and GenAI pro Doug Shannon 🪢 to help clarify and share his experience on what really works for enterprise. #genaisummit

Brian Hole and I recently attended the UiPath strategy event. We are deploying their automation platform working on our first exemplar. It felt we were coming to the automation party late, but i think that's because we've focused more on using forms, workflow and integration at Dorset. Automation in many ways is just a sticking plaster, but a vital one as demand versus capacity is a real challenge. We identified opportunities in the organisation that we just don't have resource to redesign or are routine repetitive tasks that have to be done but could be done by a machine, so its buying us time. It was great to meet other customers much further along in their journey, my take aways? 1. one organisation refers to the bots as digital assistants so people don't feel like they are being replaced. 2. go to where the backlogs, high turnover, high spend/cost, paper or electronic documents still exist. 3. the platform was more sophisticated than i realised with the development of Large Language Models for communication mining and document understanding to help manage customer demand. 4. like AI, to get best value from these types of platforms you need to strategically position them to solve organisationally challenges rather than every use case idea someone comes up with 5. As organisations we need to think about how we prepare people to start to work alongside the robots Great to make some new connections too in real life :-)
