It is with a heart full of gratitude ❤️ that I share that last Friday was my last day at Airbnb: what an amazing company, mission, and people. Thank you for letting me be part of the journey these last two and half years (and for a year as a consultant before the pandemic!) 🙏. I’m proud of my contribution to the Payments team and its vision to be a differentiated enabler for Airbnb, launching payments products or iterating on planning and ways of working, while co-leading our Asians ERG. I’ve learned so much from taking the “largest startup in the world” mindset and operating at a truly global merchant with complex payments use cases. And I was blessed with such good leaders, teammates, Asians ERG community, and friends. I’m so grateful to have worked with and learn from experts whom are also hosts at heart. Big thanks to Alyssa, Sarah, William, Philip, Cici, Max, Jyoti, Jason, Renee, and partners for your leadership and believing and investing in me. And huge thanks as always to the people in my corner providing wisdom and confidence Jordan, Kyle, Dhruv, Eileen, Sam, Charles, Fred, Brian, Chris, Pete, Emi, Meghan, Katie ❤️ As I reflect on enduring lessons for me to take forward, the infamous Founder Mode comes to mind. To me, its key principles are: - Staying close to the community: really know our product and customers - Getting into the details: be experts in our functional craft and collaborate across all levels - Presence, not absence: set the pace, standards, and culture for the organization And these principles inspire me to always- - Never lose sight of the customers’ jobs to be done, the business problems to be solved for, and the wider context of the market in which we operate, - Nurture curiosity to keep honing my craft, and courage to share my expertise up the chain and invite debate across and down the chain, and - Actively co-create the workplace culture that I aspire to be a part of Thank you so much for everything, #Airbnb and AirFam.
