If you want more sales, expand your market size with a simple adjustment to your marketing strategy. The most common reason (aka objection) why most companies don't market and sell to the military as consumers is the perception that the "military" is too small of an audience. They're right! If the "military" is believed to represent only men and women in uniform then yes, that is likely too small of an consumer segment to warrant its own strategy. However, when you step back and realize the military is actually a "community" the size of the market expands from 2 million, to 28 million. *BONUS* Many of the additional 26 million consumers are women which enables stereotypically non-male focused companies to engage with a consumer group BEFORE the competition! #sales #marketing #advertisting

🚨Personal Opinion Alert🚨 Military organisations need to become more comfortable with adopting non traditional trends and trialing new styles of communication to get their message out to their desired audience. Lately we have been exploring new styles of content on Instagram, firmly aimed a brand awareness to see if we can get our messages into wider conversations as opposed to hoping that people will come to us. Not only have we seen an uptick reach and engagement when compared to our traditional style but it has challenged our production team to be super creative and break out of their comfort zone. Audience led communications are key. Give the people what they want and allow that to transport your message in a more engaging way. It’s also a lot more fun. In this example we identified the “pedro” trend early, as it gained popularity. We had enough time to put something together to take advantage of it before it stopped trending. Is it perfect? Maybe not. Will everyone like it? Probably not. But ask yourself, were you likely to be the person this was aimed at.

Adopt Military Protocols for Unprecedented Clarity and Efficiency. In my conversation with Michelle, I described adopting military-style communication protocols. We use "Roger" like the military to acknowledge messages, but we go further, having team members repeat the message to ensure understanding. Curated by Martin R Ricketts I mentioned the military's success in managing complex systems with young individuals due to standardized training and tools. This uniform approach ensures consistent expectations and actions among team members. I contrasted our motivational methods with the military's. What if I told you there was an easy way to use LinkedIn to network with the people you want connect with? ✔ Find people in a specific job field. ✔ Find people in a specific area. ✔ Find people that work for a specific company. and on, and on, and on! Use the filter function on the LinkedIn search to conduct Targeted Networking. Simply go to your connections and click on the "all filters" button. Use that to sort potential connections by several different data points. ❌ Make sure you click on "connections" and uncheck first and click second and third so you can see all the new potential connections.
