A week ago, I traveled from Chennai to Bangalore on the Vande Bharat Express. When I woke up this was the scene newspapers neatly placed on every tray table. Yet I barely saw anyone reading them. This got me thinking newspapers are still provided at airports, hotels and even on premium trains but how often do we see people actually engaging with them? With the rise of digital content and the convenience of instant news updates on our phones, are traditional newspaper ads still an effective use of a marketing budget? Businesses still spend lakhs on newspaper ads but are we getting the same ROI today as we might have a decade ago? Are these ads overpriced in a world where digital platforms offer targeted, measurable and often more cost-effective alternatives? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Are newspaper ads still relevant or is it time for a shift in strategy? #MarketingStrategy #AdvertisingTrends #NewspaperAds #BusinessInsights #Branding #DigitalMarketing

2wHi Dani, Your post really got me thinking. While I love the charm of print, I rarely read newspapers these days because my phone does the job faster. Still, there’s something nostalgic about flipping through pages, and for some, it’s a comforting habit. But seeing stacks of unread papers feels wasteful. Maybe the sweet spot is blending print with digital, like adding a fun QR code to take readers online (vice versa). A bit of old school charm with modern convenience could make ads more engaging and memorable.
