What I Did to Land a RM3,000 Salary as a Fresh Graduate 💼✨ To all the freshies out there—Good luck, and remember: starting early is key to building a solid resume! Here’s how I did it: 1) Always have a long-term vision. After completing my diploma in 2022, I took a full-time job at a forwarding & shipping company with a basic salary of RM1,500. I worked there for 7 months while waiting to pursue my degree. I worked 8 AM-5 PM at the office and continued working at night as a cashier at a supermarket near my house, earning RM4.50 per hour. My objective was to gain valuable working experience so that, upon completing my degree, I could have bonus points on my resume to stand out in the job market. 2) Be active in school and university I stayed involved in high school and university—yes, partly to boost my resume, but also to grow as a person and develop valuable skills. 3) Apply, apply, apply I applied to hundreds of job openings on platforms like JobStreet, and I didn’t stop there. I made calls to companies to get the contact info of HR managers and increase my chances. 4) Manifest positive thinking I always aim for the best, and I work hard to turn my dreams into reality. 💪 Now, I’m actively looking for courses to further upskill and keep adding value to my resume. Anyone have recommendations? Let’s keep growing together! #CareerTips #FreshGraduate #ResumeBuilding #JobSearch #KeepLearning

For the past 3 years till currently, I've shared my message as a CAREER ADVICE to help our FRESH GRADUATES and GRADUANDS as they transition into the workforce, in the Real World……….. FRESH GRADUATES & GRADUANDS of 2024!...... As November to December approaches, many of you will soon graduate from Tertiary Institutions and enter a new chapter: JOB SEEKING and EMPLOYMENT. Some of YOU MAY BE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO SECURE ROLES directly related to your field soon after graduation, while for OTHERS, it may take WEEKS, MONTHS, OR EVEN YEARS TO FIND EMPLOYMENT..... As per my work experience gained back then, I would kindly recommend regardless of having too much high hopes or depression from seeking employment in- line with your course of studies and receiving negative or prolong responses….. It is always BEST to start small or somewhere!!…...….. Positions like CASHIER, FUEL PUMP ATTENDANT, OFFICE CLERKS or a SECURITY OFFICER etc, etc…..., whether you graduated with a Diploma, Degree or Bachelor and didn’t get favorable feedback from your applications – START SOMEWHERE FIRST.!!! Working in these areas can give you experience to basic ACCOUNTING, PAYROLL, CUSTOMER SERVICE, and more. These skills ADD VALUE to your CV and can make you stand out as a RESOURCEFUL candidate to future recruiters…. So, FRESH GRADUATES, stop worrying about some Companies, Industries requiring 2 to 4 years of work experience.......... Becoming a RESOURCEFUL PERSON with a WELL-ROUNDED SKILL set can only enhance your career prospects as you work towards a role aligned with your qualifications……. 🙏 🙏 Always Remember and Remind ourselves, the Ball is in our Court!......... Start somewhere, keep learning, and stay committed to your goals! 😉 #FreshGraduates #JobSearching #CareerAdvice Cheers to you all 🙏 , John Kasu.....

What is the point of posting a job vacancy for Fresh entry/fresh graduates if end up saying this to them. “Employer🗣️ : Sorry your application is rejected due to lack of knowledge in this role.” They are fresh graduates and of course they have zero working experience. Stop penalizing fresh entry graduates for being fresh. If your main market target are for experienced people then post the job posting for the experienced people. Stop blaming the fresh job applicants for not having any experience nor knowledge. We all use to be a fresh graduate before, and we know it is not fair to reject someone due to not having the knowledge in the job that we want to hire. Agree? #hiringmanager #worklife #freshgraduates

The reason fresh graduates are often rejected for entry-level positions is simply because they aren't from the company's preferred universities. They often pull the "lack of experience" excuse to turn you down. I've experienced this myself. I applied for an entry-level engineering position, and they were initially interested. But after the hiring manager knew which university I graduated from, they rejected me, citing a lack of experience! 😂 You can check it at the company website on LinkedIn So, fresh graduates, before applying to a company, check the company website on LinkedIn to see how many graduates from your university work there. It might give you a hint about your chances!

This situation may occur for multiple reason. 1. The hiring people required certain talent at limited budget, which to see if there is any experience candidates that willing to take the salary. Which happens a lot. For a entry level role with RM3000 salary, people with 2-4 years experience might happens to have salary at lower end, which still not exceed RM3000. 2. They actually looking for specific skill set(Language, IT Skills, and other non-common skills in the market). For example, Japanese Speaker might been paid or headhunted more despite their level or type of educations, experiences. Someone with specific Oracle knowledge might be more expensive and wanted compared to normal IT background. Mandarin/Cantonese speaker fresh candidates will have better chances in finding job compared to normal English speaker since Mandarin speaking market is highly dominant in this world. 3. They really looking for Gems type fresh graduates. Which exhibit special trait which make this person highly outstanding compare to just average graduates. This always happens when 1 position have up to 1000 applicants. This actually happens to job opening like management trainee. This actually reflected by their communication skills, presentability, CGPA and also Idea(and sometime cable). 4. They really looking for specific course or graduates from specific university. Which happens a lot too. 5. They are actually not sure on what they are looking for, and the budget is tight, hence, they just create the opening, but in the end, unable to close it due to no candidate is interested (Which mostly happens to roles that candidate preferred the least). So, what should fresh graduates do? 1. Equip yourselves(either the skills or experience) 2. Create connections(physical or LinkedIn because cable is real) 3. Advertise yourself.(make you people know you are looking out and can be approach easily) 4. Never give up(Never stop doing step 1-3) 5. Open up to as much opportunity as you can(Once you feeling to give up, maybe you can explore something small to start with)

Strongly agree on these! 💯 Instead, give them chances to prove themselves. We all started from zero too at first. If they don’t know, guide them. Don’t punish them immediately. We all use to be fresh graduate before. As a reminder to myself too, there’s no such thing a perfect possible candidate, everyone got their own strength and lack in some other parts. #experiencehiring #hiring #freshgraduate

A humble request and advice to job recruiters 80% of administrative jobs can be taught When a candidate is a fresh graduate and applies for any job in the market, every place requires a minimum of five years of experience. Where will they gain this experience if they are fresh graduates? Therefore, platforms should be provided for them where they can acquire experience free of cost so that their practical experience is secured for future jobs.

[Rotation of Rejection] A fresh graduate looking for a job applies but gets rejected because the hiring manager requires someone with at least 1 year of experience. A worker with 1 year of experience applies but is rejected because the hiring manager needs someone with at least 3 years of experience. A worker with 3 years of experience applies but is rejected because the hiring manager requires someone with at least 5 years of experience. A worker with 5 years of experience applies but is rejected because the hiring manager needs someone with at least 10 years of experience. A worker with 10 years of experience applies but is rejected because the hiring manager needs someone fresh to support the senior. This is just one type of reason for rejection, and I believe many other reasons exist. Candidates go through tough experiences, and I wish everyone who's seeking a job manages to meet the criteria set up by the hiring manager. All the best!

What's the fate of a fresh graduate trying to get a job without experience??? I've been seeing alot of entry level jobs demanding for 3-5 years job experience, and I'm wondering what's the fate of young people like myself fresh out of school. How do we get the chance to finally put our knowledge to use, how do we get the chance to prove ourselves if most companies are looking for 3-5 years of experience even for entry level jobs? what do you think about this? share your opinions/experiences with me in the comments

Fresh Grad Struggles: The Classic Job Hunt Dilemma, No Experience, No Job! Boss: So, Jason, you're fresh out of uni ah? Why you wanna join our company? Fresh Grad: Yes, boss! Just graduated last month. Honestly, I just need a job lah. Everywhere I apply, they say, "Need experience." But how to get experience if no one gives chance? Boss: Aiyo, that’s the classic one. No experience, cannot get job. No job, cannot get experience. Like chicken and egg, right? Fresh Grad: Exactly, boss! My resume kosong, but my willpower is full, okay? I’m ready to learn anything, but employers all want five years' experience for entry-level jobs. How to win like this? Boss: Haha, that’s Malaysia for you. Entry-level but need five years' experience, maybe can also fly helicopter. But here we’re more lenient lah. You got the basics, we can train you. Fresh Grad: Wah, boss, really? That’s a relief! But ah, can I ask ah, what’s the salary like? Boss: Ahh, the golden question. See, you’re fresh grad mah, so salary not too high, okay? But got room to grow, got KPI bonus, and got annual increment lah. Start small, climb big. Fresh Grad: Okay lah, start somewhere first. But can still survive in KL with this salary, right? Nowadays even teh tarik price like naik rocket. Boss: Eh, don’t worry, can survive one. Just don’t drink too much fancy coffee lah. Stick to kopitiam style, you’ll be fine. Anyway, we give good work-life balance. Here we work hard, but also play hard, okay? Fresh Grad: Wah, work hard play hard? That one I like! Thanks, boss. I’ll learn fast and prove I’m worth the investment. Boss: Good! Welcome aboard, Jason. First task: learn how to survive KL on fresh grad salary. Consider it your first company project! Ah, the never-ending cycle every fresh graduate dreads: "You need experience to get the job, but you need a job to get the experience." 😅 As a fresh grad, the enthusiasm to start a career is sky-high, but the roadblocks are plenty. Entry-level jobs asking for 3-5 years of experience, high expectations from employers, and the challenge of surviving on a beginner’s salary. Sound familiar? But hey, it’s not all bad! Some companies are willing to invest in your potential and provide training to help you grow. It’s about finding those opportunities and proving your worth. 🌟 To all the fresh grads out there – don’t give up! Keep pushing, learning, and applying. The right opportunity will come knocking sooner or later. 💪 #ATBOLEH #FreshGradLife #JobHuntStruggles #NoExperienceNoJob #CareerJourney #Graduates
