𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 ING Young Professional Network and the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet Together with the Junior Company of Nationale Opera & Ballet and the Young Professional Network of ING Nederland, we hosted their first session in which the two talent groups could meet, get to know each other, and experience the upside of pluralistic networks like these.   Although their fields of expertise might totally differ, both talent groups are likely to often experience flow in what they do. In the session, we explored together what they could learn from each other's flow experiences and routines, following the insights on flow by positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (me-HIGH CHEEK-sent-me-HIGH).   For example: What do you need in order to freely express yourself? What signals or indicators tell you that you're on the right track?   Thanks for all the energy and fun we had and for the learnings. Even though you might seem different, there's always more that you have in common, and the more pluralistic the group of people you have together, the more interesting ideas you're about to discover.

We have a new season of live audio described performances across 2024-2025 at the Royal Ballet and Opera. Dates to announced soon. As part of the developing Access project the team have been exploring the incorporation of Audio Description in promotional videos. Linked to this post is a YouTube video featuring a 23 second season launch trailer with Audio Description placed over the soundtrack. This is just an initial step, as we move to more integrated processes in collaboration with our Audio Describers and artists. As someone who trained as an Audio Describer, it’s such an insightful process to explore audio description inclusion across new functions and teams. It opens rich conversations about what is useful information, what is assumed and how biases can quickly surface but also be challenged.
