Fleet and Mobility Live starts tomorrow

The shared micromobility market in the US is still relevant, still growing, but we have seen a shift between the importance of shared kickscooters and shared bicycles in recent years. In our keynote at the world's largest micromobility conference in Los Angeles, organized by Micromobility Industries, we shared our view on the latest trends on the US micromobility market. Next workshop with my Core team colleagues from VW Group and brands. What is special - everyone is onsite, some of us had to start at 4 a.m. to join the meeting. But it does worth it when we come together, spend the day in intensive  - sometime very heated - discussions and then all say that it was great: ✅ How to scale and engage more markets to join the retail decarbonization? ✅ How to handle the legal topics and standards of retail sustainability? ✅ What are the benefits of VW energy consulting for retailers, what did the pilot tell us? ✅ How to organize annual goTOzero retail conference best and what is the main focus? These are just some topics on the Agenda. Topics so relevant, to the community and global reach. Last week was a fantastic one. I had the opportunity to meet in-person a great core team responsible for #goTOzero retail project-sustainability at #VW Group and all #brands. One key takeaway from the workshop was the importance of shifting mindset from viewing costs to recognizing value drivers as the key to achieving decarbonization in the value chain. And that's a wrap for 2024! Autonomy what an interesting event, some key points: - Where are the operators? with the exclusion of PBSC Urban Solutions there wasn't any, not even a whiff of a e-scooter! Is this a sign of how the market is, I think so. VC money has dried up and left companies without the big budgets to attend these events. -Cars cars cars! Plenty of car chat or EV charging companies were there, maybe this is where the money is....Even a huge VINFAST SUV attended. In a city that just banned SUVs, but it has 0kg of carbon output which is great. Remember its not death to the car, but the right transport choice for your journey. -2 days. I don't think the event, if it is planned for 2025 needs to be 2 days. Second day was very quiet, looked like exhibitors were fighting for delegates. Condense it down, keep it simple and make sure the talks stay on topic. Plenty of elevator pitches, without really talking about the topic in question, or time for any questions. -Networking. It was a good chance to see a lot of the industry professionals in one place at one time, to hear thoughts on the mobility market. It was an honor to represent Flix at the Global Summit by Associated Broadcasting Co. Pvt Ltd (TV9) in Stuttgart, participating in a thought-provoking roundtable on sustainability—a passion that unites us all. Moderated by Sandeep Unnithan, the session featured insightful discussions with: r k goyal, MD Kalayani Steels; Dr. Ing. Til Kaz, CTO, IONTRAK GmbH; Axel Angeli and Chitra Sukumaran K from Bosch. Discussions were around sustainability largely covering green steel, fuel cells (Hydrogen fuel cells) and mobility. We explored critical themes like the synergy between electric and hydrogen technologies, systemic approaches to decarbonization, and the need for cross-industry collaboration. According to me, rather than viewing electric and hydrogen technologies as rivals, we must leverage their complementary strengths: electrification as an immediate solution for short distance passenger transport and hydrogen as a transformative option for heavy-duty and long-range applications. This synergy is vital for a holistic decarbonization strategy. Sustainability is a systemic challenge, requiring us to rethink supply chains, energy sources, and consumption patterns, with cross-industry collaboration at its core. At FlixBus, we are committed to green mobility, investing in various pilot projects around alternate fuel solutions and meaningful partnerships that can drive meaningful change for a greener future. For us, sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a shared responsibility.
