We were thrilled to have so many guests swinging for a cure at our ultimate golf experience, The Drive, in San Diego, California. During the event, we had the honor of presenting the Champion for a Cure award in memory of Sheri Mount, one of the event founders, to an outstanding individual who exemplifies the true spirit of The Drive. This year’s recipient was Beau Guyette, a dad to a person with CF. Along with his wife, Andrea, he has dedicated himself to supporting the Foundation’s mission and growing the event. In addition, please join us in congratulating Katy Burkhart, the Giovanni Villani Champion Award. This award is given in memory of Giovanni Villani, a passionate golfer and person with CF, to the tournament’s top golfer of the year. The recipient receives The Drive’s coveted blue jacket. We thank all our sponsors and supporters who made this event possible. Together, we can end CF.

Curious non-golfers, did you know? As if getting the invite to a multi-day member guest tournament wasn't great enough, golfers form karma and gifting pacts with their friends to invite each other to their member-guest tournaments. They ceremonially open these tournaments with a bizarre but amazing gifting ritual: On arrival at the tournament, usually within sight of the first tee will be a check-in area teeming with extravagant gifts for the guests, often personalized or sized for the guest and presented with a gracious if studied nonchalance. "Oh yeah, did you pick up your engraved and tourney-stamped Opus tri-wedge pack gift bag out front? I told the gifting committee team you like the wedge flex, I hope that's okay." If you want to get into the golf grifting and gifting pact member guest game, you will need to acquire some golfing skills. We're talking about reps* education* and thoughtful practice*. Finisher medal - yay or nay? The ongoing debate on the lips of event organizers. Too often you'll hear participants say that they aren't interested in a finisher medal. So, organizers listen and opt for replacements like beer glasses, plants or bracelets. Only to hear how sh#t the idea is as those very participants stroll off after the race - medal replacement item in hand. Others happily add their medal to their collection, seeing it as a badge of honour. Is it a debate that could ever be solved? Or are we forever torn between the medal vs no medal warriors. What do you think? Are you a collector or not?

This team has been a faithful partner to Havenwood for a long time. They've supported our mission financially, as well as generously given of their skills, expertise, and time. They are true partners, generous in every sense of the word and we deeply appreciate their corporate culture. We can learn some great lessons from corporations like Kendal King. 1. Communicate - knowing your charitable priorities for next year helps nonprofits be better stewards. Even if the news is disappointing to your nonprofit, the communication is a gift in itself. 2. Mutual advocacy- Helping your partner tell their story helps the partnership. Charities should have a basic understanding of your business and companies should understand the charities mission. 3. Transparency - The charity has the responsibility of being a partner the members of your company can be proud to support. We partner by celebrating the wins and sharing the disappointments. Thank you Kendal King for being a huge part of empowering single mothers and their children to move from crisis to self-sufficiency. We are grateful.
We had a great time at the Havenwood Golf Tournament yesterday morning! It’s a privilege to be a sponsor for this event supporting such a worthy cause. ⛳ 🏌️ Soapbox Influence ShopCart Creative

Are you about to give up? Do you know Tiago Rech and his inspiring story of never giving up? The story of the fan who became the clubs most successful president. Rech first gained widespread attention in 2012 when a photograph of him went viral. The photo showed Rech as the lone fan in the stands, passionately supporting Santa Cruz during an away game against Gremio, one of Brazil's most successful teams. The image of a solitary fan in an empty stadium became symbolic of true fan loyalty and dedication. In 2019, Rech's commitment to Santa Cruz took an extraordinary turn. He was elected president of the club, a role that allowed him to directly influence its future. His election as president was a significant moment, demonstrating that his passion for the club went beyond mere support from the stands. As president, Rech faced numerous challenges, including financial difficulties and the need to improve the club's performance on the field. Despite these obstacles, he worked tirelessly to promote the club, attract sponsors, and engage with the community. His leadership was characterized by a hands-on approach and a deep connection with the club's supporters. In 2020, Santa Cruz won the State Championship and made it to the Brazilian Cup for the first time in 107 years. Keep going ... Keep doing ... If more companies actually took steps to "grow the game" instead of just repeating the line over and over again, we would all be better for it. Golf consumers are starting to see through those empty words. Here is a simple equation: More golfers + more enjoyment = Increased demand across the industry Let's push each other to do more things that make people feel welcome, break down the cost barriers, and help people learn about this complicated game.
Today, in honor of The Masters, we gave away our kid's golf clubs for FREE. We announced on Instagram and TikTok that from 8am-3pm we would be giving away kid's club for free at the GolfRoots HQ here in Dallas, Texas. Sure enough, folks were waiting in the parking lot before 8, and people streamed in throughout the day. We love getting to share this game, and making golf accessible to kids is a great way to do it. Thank you to the members at our Partner Courses who make this possible. Stay tuned, there may be more to come in this space!
