Bord na Móna Cloncreen 2023 Community Benefit Fund Community Group: St. Mary's Secondary School, Edenderry Project Description: Purchase of outdoor gym equipment St. Mary's Secondary School caters for boys and girls from Edenderry and the surrounding areas, such as Offaly, Kildare and Meath, making it a central connection between several communities that provides facilities and educational opportunities to many students. Funding was provided to the school to purchase an outdoor gym on their newly opened playing pitch. The purchases also included a variety of equipment, accessible for both able-bodied and students who require wheelchair access. The main objective of this project is to provide more opportunities for students from the community to participate in exercise, no matter their physical ability. The outdoor gym will be on the grounds of our newly opened playing pitch. The school would not have been able to provide these facilities without the funding. Commenting on the Funding provided from Cloncreen Wind Farm, St Mary's School stated: This Grant Award has made a fantastic impact on our community. It has provided a safe space for our students to exercise. It caters to all the students in the school but has had the biggest impact with our most vulnerable students. The Waterford Skate Park initiative is all about building a 55,000 sq ft concrete skate park that welcomes everyone. What is community weaving In the practice of Community Weaving, individuals learn from Master Weavers who share their experiences and instruct them in the utilization of tools, techniques, and technology to cultivate their own social support networks within various spheres such as schools, neighborhoods, organizations, and businesses. Like-minded individuals, termed Good Neighbors, collaborate to establish shared resources such as furniture warehouses, childcare cooperatives, clothing exchanges, and community gardens. Additionally, they organize recreational activities like rafting trips, campouts, ropes courses, barbecues, softball games, paintball competitions, and vision quests. Furthermore, Community Weaving facilitates community improvement initiatives through the application of FSN technology, spearheading endeavors such as the closure of problematic venues, disaster response, establishment of neighborhood watch programs, fundraising for beautification projects, revitalization efforts, and the incubation of new businesses. To support these endeavors, local organizations such as the American Red Cross, Public Health Department, schools, faith leaders, businesses, and various civic, social service, and youth organizations are enlisted as FSN Partners. They provide essential resources such as free space for activities, access to speakers and educational materials, and complimentary trainings for FSN volunteers. FSN partners are equipped with the necessary training as Community Weavers, enabling them to effectively leverage the resources of the FSN to better address the needs of their clients. #communitydevelopment #educationalleadership #healthcare

Approaching 10 Years in Operations Serving Special Needs. Fitness Sports Karate, Inc, DBA Special Needs Fun. started in 2015, and has evolved into one of the Best and Greatest Entities that Serves the Special Needs Population in all of South Florida. We have stood the test of time, from when the lousy Special Olympics of Florida @specialolympicsfl tried to Black ball Us because we were speaking for Disability Rights, to when we wanted to advertise Our Business with Best Buddies and the disgraceful Best Buddies @bestbuddiesmdhs told Us we had to pay $25,000 to Promote Our Company with them, to when Miracle League wanted to put Conditions on Us if we wanted to be in Partnership with them, and to Autism Speaks @autismspeaksfl wanting to charge Us $1,500 to set up a booth at there Walks. The difference between Us and these Money hungry Entities of Nonprofits, is there all about the Money, and look at Special Needs Individuals as Dollar signs, and Special Needs Fun looks at ways to help Our Customers and to try and improve them, not Dollar signs. And one of the Greatest things we did in Evolving was the Creation of Our Media Platform of Alexander News Show #Alexandernewsshow, to give the Special Needs Population a Voice. We’re proud to have secured funding from Sport England's Together Fund to support communities hit hardest by the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this, we worked with 43 community organisations supporting under-represented groups, including people in lower socio-economic groups, culturally diverse communities, and those with disabilities or long-term health conditions. Some amazing organisations we’ve partnered with include Gateway Wheelers, Deaf Awareness NE, Apna Ghar Minority Ethnic Women’s Centre, and West End Women’s and Girls Centre.

Pencils as bollards for school streets brilliant! I have a strong affinity towards bollards, my very first piece of urban traffic management was installing a single bollard in Hammersmith town centre back in 2002. And who doesn’t love a school street, I have worked on hundreds and can count the objections raised on my fingers.
