In response to the increasing volume of cyber attacks in the automotive sector Trend Micro subsidiary, VicOne, the automotive cyber security specialist and 42Crunch have partnered to enhance the security of APIs for the software-defined vehicle and broader connected-vehicle ecosystem. International regulations (UN R155) and standards (ISO and SAE Standard 21434) are mandating that vehicle manufacturers must now address cybersecurity throughout the vehicle’s life cycle, and not focus only on the development portion of a vehicle’s lifecycle. Failure to do so means OEMs will not be able to sell their vehicles in regulated markets until they remediate cybersecurity gaps.
