Where did you start your testing journey?🤔 In the latest episode of Why Didn't You Test That? Ben Riley, Rich Jordan and Mantas Dvareckas discuss how they entered the testing space and their continued learning. For newcomers to software testing, it's important to be creative and not just follow scripts. Freedom to experiment with tools is invaluable, but structure and understanding good testing practices are also crucial. Be curious, try to break things, and learn from existing methods rather than reinventing the wheel. ✅Watch the full episode to learn more: https://hubs.li/Q02BwFp40 #podcast #devops #qa #cicd #testing #softwaretesting #qualityassurance #softwaredevelopment #softwarequality #agile

When I was interviewed by Alan and Brent for their podcast AB Testing (I’ll drop a link in the comments), Alan said something that kept coming back to me. He said “developers need to own the automated tests”. I think this is where many testers get scared because what they hear is “we don’t need testers anymore”. This, however, is not what is being said. The point I take away from this is that testers are working as test specialists and quality coaches alongside developers, and focus on writing frameworks and supporting tools. Somebody else in my feed put it as “think of the developers as your customers”, and that works, too. Either way, if you want to achieve high performing teams who release high quality code, you can’t squirrel test automation away in a corner to be executed by a removed team of so-called “automation testers”. Tests need to be written and owned by the developers as part of the implementation phase, and test specialists are there to strategise, support, coach and teach. And test, of course - with and without tools. #DevOps #AutomatedTesting #SoftwareDevelopment #QualityAssurance #Teamwork

I take the risk out of your software development projects and make them valuable, efficient, and predictable.
Hey folks! Some of you - at least two people, surely - are probably wondering things like, "What happened to Agile Bites?" and "Why is Phil so much less active on LinkedIn, lately?" and "What measures can we take to keep it this way?" Well, a couple of pretty big things have happened. One is that Integrity Inspired Solutions is engaged with a pretty big project, and while we hire up for that, I've been spending most of my time coding with the team dedicated to that project. The other thing is that Kora Cameron, whom I often verbally reference in Agile Bites, is moving on to another great opportunity! So we've been sorting that. Kora has been more or less responsible for that podcast going any further than random rants I spout off in the office. She records them, edits them, and publishes them. I just talk for 20 minutes, which is easily the least labor-intensive part of the process. It's our intent to keep Agile Bites going, but we are having to figure out some things we'll need to do in order to make that happen. Thanks, all two of you, for your patience!
