🗒️ The note on my desk this week is a reminder to replace "reactivity" with "curiosity." 🏃♀️ On my run last night, I listened to an interesting podcast on the subject of curiosity, featuring film producer Brian Grazer who touched on AI, a subject that I know I need to get more curious and less reactive about in my own life and career. Grazer says: 🔈 "We're entering a totally new chapter of what we have to be curious about, which is the state of the world politically, but more importantly, in our personal lives and survival, AI... So can we use AI to better our lives? Or is it going in some ways to break down our lives (either our livelihoods, our economics—or replace us)? The more curious you are about these subjects right now, the more successful you will be in your job and the more successful you will be as a human being." 🐒 Regardless of your industry, you are probably considering whether AI is going to break down or better your work life. Personally, I'm going to work on being more curious and less reactive in general, but especially on the subject of AI. 🫶 Though Grazer only touches on AI for a few minutes, the full episode is worth a listen, especially the part where he talks about the art of human connection and the importance of treating face-to-face encounters and eye contact as our "human wi-fi." https://lnkd.in/g-ikNAS2

Perplexity, the AI-powered conversational search engine, has partnered with ElevenLabs, the natural-sounding speech AI generator, to produce a new daily podcast narrated entirely by AI-generated voices. The podcast is called “Discover Daily” and explores topical subjects from the worlds of innovation, science and culture, drawn from Perplexity’s daily feed. It’s also a further illustration of how much AI is about to change. Under Christopher Nesi, I created my Final DCIM project. Hosted on the personal website I built for this project I created my podcast Art and AI. My podcast dives into how AI is reshaping the art industry. I explore how AI-generated content affects artists and the art world as a whole. I learned a lot when I was working on my podcast Art and AI. AI's impact on the art world is an expansive issue as it's constantly evolving even now. Researching I went deep into how algorithms work in generating art, including everything from neural networks to GANs, and explored the ways these technologies developed. At the same time, I found out just how complex and controversial AI-generated art really is. I learned about real-world concerns from artists around copyright issues, as well as the ethical debates surrounding AI's ability to mimic unique styles, often without the original artist’s input or consent.
