We are thrilled to be part of the "Enhancing SME Access to European Research and Technology Infrastructures: A Pathway to Innovation & Growth" workshop, which is taking place today in Brussels. The event gathers around the same table representatives from RIs, SMEs, Member States, national funders, and the European Commission to foster collaborations in two strategic domains: advanced materials and biotechnology. At Euro-BioImaging, we believe that European Research Infrastructures (RIs) offer significant yet underused opportunities to support research and innovation for small and medium enterprises. We are contributing with our partners ALBA Synchrotron, ELIXIR, ESRF - The European Synchrotron INESC Brussels HUB to make it easier for SMEs to leverage these advantages. 🔍 We are not just offering services but creating connections within an entire ecosystem to power European innovation and competitiveness in biotechnology and advanced materials. Our goal is to continually improve and facilitate access for SMEs, ensuring they can benefit from available cutting-edge technology and advanced services. Did you know that Euro-BioImaging is a leading imaging initiative in Europe, with a portfolio of over 120 technologies immediately accessible to SMEs? https://lnkd.in/dmCcZpsm 🚀 Our aim is impact. Euro-BioImaging is part of a joint effort by European Research Infrastructures to put their scientific capacity directly at the service of commercial users, accelerating innovation and maintaining Europe's position as a technological global leader. We are particularly eager to engage with the European biotech sector, where our imaging expertise and tech portfolio are unmatched assets. 🌐 We want to break the silos and remove the barriers to research and innovation. During this workshop, participants work jointly towards addressing pressing SMEs needs. The workshop aims to simplify access to RIs' assets, remove administrative hurdles, and create cross-program opportunities. 📈 Euro-BioImaging will implement an SME access pilot as part of our EVOLVE project, taking direct inspiration from the experience of our UK and Belgian Nodes. More about EVOLVE → https://lnkd.in/dztDRR5n Let's continue to make a difference and drive innovation together! 💪

#Europe is moving closer together - this can also be seen everywhere in #research and #science. GÉANT is providing technology and tools so that researchers can work together across borders, while projects such as the LEXIS Project and EXA4MIND are creating more tools and infrastructures for analysing #researchdata. Last but not least, tasks such as the development of the #digitaltwin for medicine (CompBioMed) or the compilation of a new, open #webindex for innovative #search services (OpenWebSearch.eu) are bringing researchers together. Want to bet that the topic of #artificialintelligence is now also inspiring Europe's researchers to team projects? Let's celebrate unity in Europe today on #Europatag2024 and that 27 countries have managed to peacefully agree on common goals. #europewithoutfrontiers, #voteeurope24, #europesdiversity, #ITinEurope, #ITsovereignity4Europe, #togetherstronger, #unitedtothefuture ETP4HPC European Technology Platform for HPC, EuroCC, Gauss Centre for Supercomputing, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), EVOQUE - Horizon Europe Collaborative project, Tiko Pro - Horizon Europe and Digital Europe, European Projects Accelerator - Horizon 2020 Edition - Hands-on-Practice Training

🇫🇷 French Innovators Shine in the European Inventor Award 2024! 🏆 On Thursday, May 16, the European Patent Office announced the finalists for its prestigious European Inventor Award. Often referred to as the « Eurovision of Innovation », this competition celebrates inventors who have made remarkable contributions to their fields. For the 2024 edition, French innovators stand out in several categories: 👉SME Category : French innovators Bruno Mottet, Lyderic Bocquet, and their team at Sweetch Energy in Brittany have developed membrane technology that generates energy where salt and freshwater meet. Osmotic energy is sustainable and could help combat climate change while meeting growing power demands. INOD membrane technology taps into osmotic energy. Sweetch is now building France’s first prototype osmotic power plant. 👉Research Category : French neurologists DAVID DEVOS and caroline moreau-devos, along with their team at InBrain Pharma in Lille, have created a revolutionary treatment for Parkinson's disease. Their "Brain Infusion" method delivers a continuous, controlled supply of natural dopamine directly to the brain, restoring motor function. This direct administration into the central nervous system offers numerous benefits, including improved motor skills and minimal peripheral side effects (Caroline Moreau won the Marie-Paule Burrus Prize in 2022). 👉Non-EPO Countries Category : Based in California, Franco-American innovator David Fattal and his team have developed real-time, glasses-free 3D imaging technology. Through his company Leia Inc. founded in 2014, the polytechnic engineer created LeiaSR™. This advanced 3D cell technology, combined with cutting-edge AI, enables 3D viewing without glasses, making 3D accessible to everyone, anywhere, on any device. From renewable energy to groundbreaking 3D technology, French innovators have a strong chance of winning this prestigious award!
