Something so simple could be wreaking havoc on your reporting, sales process, and systems integrations. That thing? Duplicates. 👩🏽👩🏽👩🏽 Specifically leads/contacts. Duplicates can dilute attribution data. Duplicates can inflate funnel data. Duplicates can impact overal engagement tracking/scoring/prioritization. Duplicates can impact email deliverability and reporting. (and create a bad customer experience) Duplicates can impact system integrations and cause errors. They are like termites. 🐜 "Small" issue that can easily go unnoticed. But makes a very very big impact on your foundation and worsens when not dealt with properly.
Duplicates are the absolute worst. If you're going to create them intentionally, you better have a damn good reason why you're doing it. Otherwise, you're just creating a mess for yourself.

Oh god yes 😩 The worst is when sales teams waste time working the same accounts from different angles without knowing it. Nothing kills your win rate faster than multiple reps accidentally competing against each other for the same deal! And don't get me started on the revenue impact when your ACV calculations are off because of duplicate accounts inflating your numbers... Clean data = clean forecasting.
What’s the best way to handle this in SFDC? Is it through a flow? Both to stop as many duplicates from happening, and merging those that exist?
