In this clip, we stress the importance of avoiding hunching, bending, or leaning to get a better angle. If you catch yourself doing this, it’s a clear sign to adjust your position instead. 💡 We also break down a hand check play transitioning from the trail to the lead’s primary on a potential blow-by. 🚦 Reminder: Suspend hand-checking rules when the offensive player beats the defender past their torso—unless the contact is illegal and impedes their progress or creates a disadvantage. Here is a tweek to the tackle pursuit drill S&C coaches can do during the summer to get ready for the season. The way we set this drill up was the offensive player knew they had one person in front of them they had to make miss. However, they knew they had someone coming from behind them. This mimiced what would happen in game situations. We created this so the offensive player would not do tons of juke moves and stand in place (that can't happen in a game when there are other people pursuing from the back side). So we made a drill for it. Did we start here right away? No. Should you? No. Here was our progression: 1v1 5x5 box 1v1 5x10 box 1v1 10x10box 1v1 10x20 box 1v1 10x20 box *added obsticales in the way 1v1 20x20 box 1v1 20x20 box *added obsticales in the way 1v1 10x20 box 2v1 10x20 box *added obsticales in the way 2v1 20x20 box 2v1 20x20 box *added obsticales in the way Let us know in the comments if you like this drill. #SCN | #StrengthCoachNetwork

In the 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗖 film The Replacements, QB Shane Falco (Keanu Reeves) talks about his greatest fear on the football field: quicksand. "𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘬. 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦... 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦... 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥. 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥" I think the corporate world's 'quicksand' is resentment. First someone misses your big meeting and you get upset. Then a few weeks later they talk to the team about the importance of being a team player, which makes you more frustrated about the time they weren't. Perhaps in your review they highlight an example for growth as a time you could've gone above and beyond to support a team member. All this does is make you more resentful because when you needed them on your team, they weren't there. It shows up everywhere - friends who won't help with job or client opportunities but then help someone else, people who won't invest in one idea but will in another, etc... The great news is that there's an easy fix to this, and it's talking. Easier said than done, but it will pull you right out of the quicksand. https://lnkd.in/gTTgsq93

Here's some Shooting Drills that will put your players through movements and situations that actually show up in games! Don't get me wrong... Every once in a while, players are lucky enough to catch-and-shoot a wide open spot-up shot in a game. But more often than not, shots don't get served up like that on a silver platter! Normally, shots come after a series of hard-fought screens and cuts where defenders need to be shook loose and beaten to a spot. And these 3 shooting drills are designed to allow players to recreate that type of intensity... even when they're training all by themselves! On top of that... Our in-house shooting expert Coach Paris Davis lays out his 8 foundational shot-enhancing tips that your players should follow with each repetition in order to maximize their FG%. Check out the drills below and give them a try!

📊 Transition Tip: We’d love to show every actual play we discuss, but we do our best to recreate key scenarios to help you identify them yourself. This example highlights a transition play where the lead official runs parallel to the ball handler on a block/charge call at the free-throw line extended, opposite elbow. Key Takeaways: 🚫 Avoid calling through the paint—understand when you’re not in a reliable position . ❌ No open look=No whistle ✅ Trust your crew and the system Want more tips like this? NCAA needs to limit/reduce when Ref reviews can occur and place a 30sec time limit or call on floor stands. Reviews should be limited to (1)timing issues, (2)question on 3pt shot (on a deadball), (3)question on who committed the foul, (4)when there is a hard foul called to determine if it warrants an upgrade or (5)possession within last 2 minutes...all these unobserved/not called 'flops' (albeit some are legit) that stop play/momentum to review and 'upgrade' to Flagrant when the '3' ref crew saw nothing and take forever to make a decision, combined with the ridiculous amount of possession reviews at the end of game (which are only awarding TO to teams that do not have any left)...is truly hurting the game.
