This is the first #GivingTuesday that I'm not in the adrenaline rush of fundraising. It's bittersweet. A few interesting fundraising stats: ✨️ Gen Z is more likely to donate to international causes or volunteer time in lieu of a monetary gift. ✨️Boomers and Xers are most likely to donate to local charities. These age groups are more likely to make a one-time donation. ✨️23% of Millenials contribute to charities by fundraising and are more likely to donate on a reoccurring monthly basis in smaller amounts. Just in: New data from GivingTuesday's GivingPulse Q4 2023 Report (available here: https://bit.ly/43yMt7S ) and featured last week in The NonProfit Times shows a surge in all forms of generosity at the end of last year. Despite a plateau in monetary giving during November and December, over 40% of respondents consistently donated money during this time. The report tracks various acts of kindness, including giving money, donating items, volunteering, advocating, and more. Formal, registered organizations received the most support, with trends showing a higher proportion of individuals backing registered charities. However, per the data, not everyone is being asked to participate equally, especially younger individuals, retirees, and lower-income groups. Interestingly, the non-religious subgroup witnessed a significant increase in monthly solicitation during Q4. Data around crisis giving showed a peak the week of October 30, with 27% of respondents giving in response to the Israel-Hamas war.
