Today I attended the Google GenAI Live : Business Perspective event in London, and I'm genuinely impressed by the pace of innovation in this field. From groundbreaking capabilities to illuminating success stories, it's evident that GenAI is reshaping the landscape at an unprecedented rate. These events serve as invaluable opportunities to deepen our understanding of these powerful technologies, enabling us to ask more pertinent questions and envision more impactful use cases and solutions. Here are my key takeaways from the event: 1. Model Understanding: With over 130 models available through Google Vertex AI alone, understanding the capabilities of each model is crucial for selecting the best fit for specific use cases. 2. Prioritizing Grounding: The importance of grounding in AI models cannot be overstated. Models that provide source explanations will play a pivotal role in reducing hallucination and enhancing their usability. 3. Bringing Business Closer to Data: GenAI is bridging the gap between business users and data, unlocking real-time insights and revolutionizing content generation through capabilities like Extensions. 4. Adapting to LLM Evolution: Number of parameters used by LLMs have been increased by 10x rate in one year. As Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities evolve rapidly, it's essential to adopt LLM-agnostic solutions to avoid any high dependency like we have seen in cloud adaption. Multi-LLM approaches based on use case and cost considerations will be the future norm. 5. Integration with Existing Architecture: Success in AI implementation hinges on seamless integration with existing architectures such as data, APIs, security, and networking. 6. Next-Level Automation: Brace yourselves for a paradigm shift in user interactions with websites and apps. Smarter agents powered by GenAI will redefine automation, enabling multiple actions with unparalleled efficiency. 7. Responsible AI Governance: With great power comes great responsibility. A responsible AI governance must be established to ensure ethical use of GenAI and following latest regulatory requirements like EU AI Act. The insights gained and the awareness of capabilities from this event have set the stage for the upcoming Google GenAI Lab event, which will delve into the practical details of implementing these cutting-edge features.
