Now that temperatures are starting to drop, it’s time to ensure your gas detection systems are ready for winter’s chill. Not all gas detectors are built to withstand freezing conditions. Our low-temperature package keeps sensors functional and accurate down to -40°C/-40°F, ensuring safety and compliance no matter how cold it gets. Ideal for cold storage, parking garages, and winter operations. In underground car parks the air can quickly become enriched with exhaust gases from petrol and diesel engines. Even when ventilation is available, gas detection devices have to be used to monitor carbon and nitrogen oxides in underground car parks so that health risks to people are minimised. We have transmitters with dual sensors and suitable controllers for the simultaneous monitoring of two gases at one measuring point. Preforming Infrared Thermography to electrical assets especially Electrical Transportation you must take into your consideration the wind as Force Convection factor (Cooling Effect). This can effect the quality of your data collection and you can easily miss defects or it may looks to you as less severe. The best practices when required to do Infrared Thermography in windy weather is to do the following: 1- Always carry Anemometer (measurement device - wind speed), this will helps to build an effective trend with your data. This can be discussed in details in our Infrared Thermography course. 2- Increase the frequent of your data collection. 3- if it is not a must, we can perform our IRT data collection when there is no or little wind. #Reliability

Q) How many gases can I monitor with one device? A) This largely depends on the device used, the built-in sensor and the gases to be measured. Our portable devices have slots for a maximum of 5 different sensors and can measure up to 8 gases at the same time, depending on the sensor configuration. Transmitters that are used in stationary gas warning systems usually have only one sensor and can therefore only measure a single gas. Need help or advice? Understanding Gas Detector Cross-Sensitivities Gas detectors are essential tools for maintaining safety in various industries, but did you know they can be susceptible to cross-sensitivities? These occur when the sensors respond to other gases besides the target one, potentially leading to false readings or overlooked hazards. Stay safe.
