The US and Tanzanian governments will be #leaningin with Pact and Geita-area #mining communities to address child labor and promote acceptable conditions of work in artisanal and small-scale #gold mining (‘ASGM’). “The project will enable key partners to produce and disseminate data, increase the capacity of the government to monitor and identify labor violations and pilot effective community-based approaches to withdrawing children from illegal and exploitative labor conditions.” I’ll be working directly on this project over the next few years. Looking forward to sharing the key lessons learned that may inspire other areas to take meaningful actions on this complex topic. #letkidsbekids #responsiblesourcing #duediligence #tanzania #pactpromise https://lnkd.in/eh8CmSwm
