We have our research seminar this week and we are very excited to welcome Sarah Perman and colleagues from Public Health at Hertfordshire County Council. I had the pleasure of participating in the SSPH+ Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management in Lugano three-day's "Health in Emergencies: Assessing and Responding to Health Care Needs in Complex Situations" course. The goal of this course was to provide participants with the practical skills and operational expertise necessary to effectively respond to public health emergencies, especially in fragile and crisis-affected contexts. Through real-life case studies, the course offered insights into effective emergency preparedness and response strategies, enabling participants to design and implement public health interventions that address both immediate risks and long-term community priorities.
