“Make content you’re proud of.”
Jack Appleby reminded us at a recent event that building a personal brand isn’t about chasing views — it’s about attracting the right people. 🎯
Whether the goal is to entertain or grow in your career, the key is to create content that feels authentic to you.
And the content that makes you feel good will, in turn, make your audience feel good about you.
🤔 What content are you most proud of?
I think the most important thing is to make content that you are personally proud of. Like if you like the contents, the views really will matter less to you and the comments that you get will be the people who you specifically want to target. Like if you're building a personal brands on on LinkedIn, you want to find your next job. You to have a wonderful 20 year career, you only got to impress 5 hiring managers. That's like 5 people. So just make stuff you're proud of.
I just modified my videos to directly oppose status quo content strategy, instead optimising for myself. The results have proven far more successful then the traditionally chasing of views, trending formats and topics.
Love when you shared this Jack Appleby Make stuff you're proud of… which also leads to less burnout as a creator.
And you only need a handful of the RIGHT people to see your work to lead to that opportunity 👌. On LinkedIn especially

Are you speaking your customer's language, or just talking to yourselves?
In a sea of content, what makes yours stand out? It’s not just about broadcasting your message but engaging in a conversation. Today's market demands authenticity and value-driven content. It's no longer enough to tout the features of your product; you must address the pain points, aspirations, and lifestyle of your audience.
Engage by asking questions, sharing insights, and providing solutions that resonate on a personal level. Your content should invite interaction, encouraging your audience to share their thoughts and experiences. This approach not only enhances brand perception but fosters a community around your values and vision.
So next time you craft your message, ask yourself: Are we truly connecting with our audience or just adding to the noise? The difference could redefine your market presence.
💡 Value Alone Won't Convert
To genuinely captivate your audience, blend value with personality and substance!
It’s not enough to share helpful tips. Without a deeper connection or actionable insights, your message risks getting lost.
Aim to deliver not just what your audience needs but also why it matters!
Remember, good content informs, and great content inspires your audience to take the next step!
Let’s create content that resonates and motivates ⚡
Creating content that truly resonates with your audience doesn’t have to be complicated. Before your next post, ask yourself these questions:
- Is it easily digestible?
- Does it speak to your audience’s needs and interests?
- What emotion do you want to evoke?
- Are your core values represented?
- Does it have a compelling hook?
By addressing these key points, you can ensure that your content is on target and makes a lasting impact. Want to dive deeper into these questions? Let me know!

✓ Is it valuable?
People are attracted to value.
✓ What problem does it solve?
What your audience stand to gain.
✓ Will it help build my visibility?
Or will it hide you the more.

Everything you put out is an extension of your brand.

Every word, every phrase, and every sentence we write has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life.
Content overload aside, brand messages can still cut through the noise and connect with your audience (if done right).
👉 It could be a catchy headline that stops someone mid-scroll.
👉 It could be a thought-provoking blog post that sparks a conversation.
👉 It could be a personalised email that prompts action.
It doesn’t matter if you want to inform, entertain, inspire, or educate. Always choose the right words to tell great stories, deliver value, and leave lasting impressions.
Beatrice, you make an excellent point. Building an authentic brand and connecting with an audience on a deeper level requires vulnerability, conviction, and a willingness to be polarizing. Some key takeaways:
Polarizing Content: Playing it safe and trying to please everyone often leads to bland, forgettable content. Sharing bold viewpoints and provocative ideas that challenge the status quo allows you to cut through the noise and attract those who resonate with your beliefs.
Showcase Your Personality: A brand is not just a logo or tagline - it's an expression of the real humans behind it. Letting your unique personality and quirks shine through makes the brand more relatable and magnetic.
Unapologetic Authenticity: There's no substitute for being genuine. When you unapologetically own your perspectives, philosophies and flaws, it gives the audience permission to embrace their true selves as well. Authenticity forges unbreakable connection.
Define Your Niche: By taking clear stands on topics you're passionate about, you automatically attract an engaged niche audience that shares your worldview while naturally repelling those who don't vibe with your message. This focused tribe becomes your unwavering core.
Unmatchable Individualism: At the end of the day, no one can replicate your specific combination of experiences, philosophies, and way of viewing the world. Putting your authentic self at the forefront makes you inimitable and unstoppable within your space.
You're absolutely right - the most enduring and impactful brands are not the ones desperately trying to be inoffensive crowd-pleasers. It's those willing to courageously express themselves, polarize, and let their authentic truth attract their tribe. That's how real relevance is achieved.
Helping founders and consultants build, grow and monetise their personal brand on LinkedIn.
You are not gonna be liked by everyone...
And that's ok.
You need polarising content.
Share your own beliefs.
Show your personality.
This is how you build a brand.
And an audience that shares these.
That resonates and connects with you.
You can only stand out through authenticity.
And from there...
No one can compete with YOU at being yourself.
