Today, we are going to talk about a limiting belief I keep running into: Creating a psychologically safe workplace with greater openness and vulnerability leads to chaos and conflict. This belief arises among leaders who fear difficult conversations. They might have read that psychologically safe workplaces increase employee engagement, creativity, and productivity. But … who looks forward to a difficult conversation? No one that I know! Here are three actionable strategies that can help you become more comfortable with difficult conversations: 1 - Choose one, and only one, issue to discuss. There may be other issues that need to be addressed but focusing on the most important issue is likely to minimize many of the others on your list. 2 - Prepare for the conversation by bringing notes, role-playing how the conversation might go, and practicing responses. Role-playing can greatly increase your confidence ahead of the conversation. 3 - Invite open conversation and collaboration by asking What?, How?, and How might we…? type questions. #LeadershipStrategies #DifficultConversations #GTNCoach

It sets the stage for collaboration, establishes shared values, and creates an environment where individuals thrive. A solid organizational culture is crucial to the overall success of the organization; it helps staff navigate challenges, fosters a sense of belonging, and boosts satisfaction. Leaders who prioritize and actively shape a positive culture play a critical role in ensuring the enduring success of their organizations. According to a Gallup poll cited in the book, the way bosses interact with their employees significantly affects their level of engagement at work. When bosses completely ignore their employees, a staggering 40% of them actively disengage from their work. Criticism, though not ideal, can still result in higher engagement, with only 22% disengaging. However, the most powerful engagement booster is acknowledgment and recognition. When bosses recognize their employees' strengths and reward them for their contributions, only 1% of employees actively disengage. This underscores the importance of fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation in the workplace. By acknowledging and rewarding employees for their strengths and efforts, companies can enhance employee engagement, leading to greater productivity, innovation, and overall success. 🌟 Join me in supporting a new era of leadership that prioritises safety, belonging, rewarding and empowerment. #Leadership #Culture #Belonging #SafetyFirst #Empathy #Trust #Innovation #Teamwork #DiversityandInclusion #Collaboration 🚀🌟Let's spread the message far and wide! 🌟🚀 Follow 👉 Antonio Antonucci for more insights on leadership and organizational culture. #FollowMe #LeadershipJourney #TogetherWeRise

Leaders, this is why we should make every conversation count. Creating a strong workplace culture goes beyond what we see and feel- it's also about what we hear. The power of words in shaping a positive work environment cannot be underestimated. Words have a huge impact on employee wellbeing, engagement and performance because they build trust. They empower. They inspire action. And they shape the future by helping employees see the bigger picture. As leaders, our words carry weight. By choosing them wisely, we can cultivate a workplace where people feel confident, valued, recognised, and excited about their future. #Leadership #Culture #CompanyCulture #Communication

Take Care of your "PEEPS" to Boost Engagement & Retention The importance of the human element at work cannot be overstated. Gallup’s Q12 highlights a powerful sentiment: “My manager cares about me as a person.” This statement is at the heart of employee engagement and retention. 💜Here are some ways to show you care: Personal Investment 👤: Take the time to understand your team members’ personal goals and challenges. Genuine interest fosters trust and loyalty. Recognition & Appreciation 🏆: Regularly acknowledge contributions and celebrate successes. Feeling valued boosts morale and motivation. Supportive Environment 🤗: Create a culture where support and empathy are the norms, not the exceptions. A caring environment encourages employees to thrive. Open Communication 🗣️: Encourage open dialogue and provide regular feedback. Transparency builds respect and a sense of belonging. #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #WorkplaceCulture

Everywhere I speak these days, I’m asked how to increase employee engagement and bring people together to connect to create belonging? The ultimate mindset shift is seeing this as an opportunity not a threat. I encourage leaders to begin with providing development opportunities, ensuring their performance management structure is sound and creating a culture of empathy and inclusiveness for employees. If your employees feel there is no upward mobility or opportunity for them to grow, they’re going to start looking elsewhere. If they don't feel like they belong or they doubt their place in the organization, they're going to feel left out. Global Engagement Solutions shows us beautifully in this graphic the power of employee engagement and how to use it. Research is continuing to show employees want flexible work options. They want their managers and organization to understand who they are, what they need and to care for them as they navigate a changing work and world climate. Where I see tremendous opportunity for leaders is to provide meaningful feedback on a consistent and frequent basis. Take the time to assess each employee’s productivity. Ask them what they truly want to be doing. See how this aligns with strategic goals, but also their fit for their current role on a quarterly basis. Be adaptable. All around, help your employees to see the growth opportunities that exist in their current organization. Have the conversation and support them. Make sure the conversations are taking place and you let your people know they are valued. Otherwise, you may find them looking elsewhere. #employeeengagement #emotionalintelligence #leadership #infographics #communication #personaldevelopment

Engaged employees play a crucial role in establishing a better relationship with your members. Since your employees are the ones who interact with your members regularly, their thoughts and feelings about your gym represent your brand better than any marketing or advertising material ever could. One effective way to keep your employees engaged is to communicate through a communication board or your team chat, share exciting plans your company has in store, or even get feedback on new ideas you have for the gym. This approach makes your employees feel valued and part of the team, rather than just another worker.
