❓ Can we really talk about the recovery in the European mergers & #acquisitions markets? According to S&P Global Intelligence Unit, transaction values for the 2024-Q2 period increased 29% despite the volume of deals dropping by 15% (3,524 to 2,986 deals). On the other hand, Pitchbook also released a report on European PE deals market in 2024-Q3, which shows "the market is on track for significant yearly growth, with a projected 27.5% increase in deal value and 11.5% in deal count". Both reports show that megadeals are dominating the markets, whereas we cannot observe a strong recovery in the smaller deals. I accept the fact that those two reports have different periods but as I had stated previously, the true recovery is about to come only in 2025-26. Despite that, #investors are less hesitant to make #technology deals in 2024. Special meetings vary based on the need for shareholder approval outside of the AGM. The focus on economic growth in the UK may affect the frequency of special meetings, such as for capital raising to fund acquisitions or working capital.
