As for what would constitute a fair allocation, increasing targeted funding for early-stage startups and expanding access to technology-based incubators could significantly boost Malaysia’s startup activities. A larger pool of grants, soft loans, and tax breaks specifically for high-growth startups in digital and tech-driven sectors would foster a more competitive startup environment. To further drive innovation, it would be ideal to have a dedicated allocation or matching funds program, pushing collaboration between industry, government, and educational institutions, ensuring startups have access to both capital and knowledge resources.
