Not everything that changes the world changes it overnight. As a culture, we're so impatient. It doesn't come from nowhere - our current manifestation of capitalism demands constant, massive growth, a sharp, unbroken diagonal line up and to the right. The "AI is revolutionary" / "AI is pure hype" discourse reflects this. Either AI is going to change everything about work and life RIGHT NOW, or AI was just a fad and we need to move on to the next thing before we miss out on that. I advocate for something truly revolutionary: go at the pace of reality. "Has the AI bubble burst?" is a fairly meaningless question for most of us. "How might AI fit into our business strategy?" is a much more useful one. If you're a leader at a typical organization, your best path through this moment is to be steady and thoughtful. I know it's not sexy or headline-making. But it's rarely the wrong choice. Remember your mission and your goals. Consider what your customers value and what could differentiate your business in their minds. Think about the data you have, and the data your future self will be glad to start gathering now. Run a small experiment. Take a risk-aware first step in your best guess at the right direction. I'll link to the article that spurred these thoughts in the comments - read it for yourself and share your reflections. #AIStrategy #BusinessStrategy #leadership
"How might AI fit into our business strategy?" Is a focusing question that's far more actionable. It's the same pulse check you'd make against a strategic pillar or go-to-market approach as we monitor the market. Great reminder, Claire!
Ruthless - but empathetic - prioritization
