One of the many challenges that hardware startups face is figuring out how to deliver their products at scale. This challenge becomes even more complex when you manufacture your own hardware like Drift Net does. One of the ways we are trying to further our scalability is by employing cobots for highly repeatable tasks. The video below shows an automated spraying system (the we developed in-house) for nano-coating the metal parts of our visitor management system. This system will be in full use by the end of the week and what once took a human operator ~1 hour to do will now be done in a few minutes.

Exploring Kubernetes Probes: How to Improve Pod Availability and Resilience Kubernetes probes are a valuable tool for improving the resiliency of applications running in a Kubernetes cluster. There are three types of probes that can be configured for a container: 1. Liveness Probe: This type of probe is used to determine if a container is running correctly. If the liveness probe fails, Kubernetes will restart the container. This is useful for situations where an application has entered a corrupted or hung state. 2. Readiness Probe: This probe is used to determine if a container is ready to serve traffic. If the readiness probe fails, Kubernetes will stop sending traffic to the container until it passes the probe. This helps to ensure that only healthy containers receive traffic. 3. Startup Probe: This is a newer feature introduced in Kubernetes 1.16. It is used to determine when an application has started successfully. The startup probe runs before the liveness and readiness probes, and the container will not receive any traffic until the startup probe has succeeded.
