Based in North Carolina, our hearts are heavy with the unprecedented destruction faced by our western counties due to Hurricane Helene. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, the National Guard, utility teams, and relief personnel, many of the most affected areas remain inaccessible, lacking essential supplies such as gas, food, water, electricity, and phone service. The devastation has also spread across Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida causing immense damage. Although our facilities were not damaged, it's likely we all know someone—colleagues, friends, relatives, neighbors or clients—who has been affected. In times of such calamity and distress, deciding how best to help can be challenging. However, by coming together in support we can create a positive impact. Days after landfall, millions of people are still reeling from the heartbreak left behind by Hurricane Helene. The American Red Cross has launched a massive response along the 500-mile path of destruction to ensure no one faces this challenging time alone. More than 900 Red Cross disaster responders, alongside our partners, are working around the clock to get help to those in need. Right now, our focus is on providing safe shelter, meals, emotional support and relief supplies for people facing unimaginable destruction. Sunday night, more than 2,600 people stayed in 69 emergency shelters supported by the Red Cross and other community organizations. In some of the hardest hit areas that are accessible, 60 Red Cross emergency response vehicles are distributing meals, water and critical relief supplies. Each day, we are working tirelessly to reach more neighborhoods as conditions improve. With the help of partners, the Red Cross has provided more than 25,000 meals and snacks to people in need. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our MCA community has shown incredible resilience. We are immensely grateful for the continuous efforts of first responders, emergency management officials, utility workers, and volunteers tirelessly supporting recovery efforts. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster. We are deeply proud of our employees demonstrating our #BetterTogether spirit.  They have braved storms and dangerous conditions to ensure emergency communications, delivered supplies across impacted areas to co-workers personally impacted, and continue to display unwavering dedication to our MCA team, customers, and communities.
