Some market intel to chew on. Despite Transmission line & Substation specialty* placements being similar in proportion, we've seen an uptick in t-line placements over the last year. If I had made this chart at the end of 2022, the Transmission line percentage would have made up closer to 20%. *The data is organized by 'specialty' or background. The placements represented by this chart include Engineers, Designers, Directors, Managers, and PMs. **The 'Other' part of the graph includes distribution engineering professionals, business development managers, and engineers in renewables. #power #powerdelivery #recruiting #energy #electricalengineering #renewables #transmission #distribution #transmissionline #substation

Curious to see your thoughts. To my renewable energy & power network, for whatever reason you have to relocate to a new state/region. Where would you choose? (For me, probably somewhere a bit warmer or potentially further out West) Since I cover the whole of the US for an industry that's both regionalized but also has a need nationwide, I often get asked which parts of the US we see the most qualified candidate pools, top level opportunities, competitive markets, and/or clients growing practices... With regard to our remote hire openings, below in green are the states that I'm noticing the most volume among opportunities and/or clients looking to expand their engineering teams to kick off the spring. Anyone surprised by Texas with all of the BESS/solar projects in ERCOT? Or New York with all the DG scale & microgrid projects? 😅 Clients include IPP/utilities, developers, OEM/EPCs, engineering firms. Level of roles range from engineering, engineering/project management to director level seeking backgrounds in solar engineering, battery energy storage, interconnection/power systems, substation, protection & controls, SCADA, operations & maintenance, civil site development, etc. Drop me a line if you're curious on any specific region! #renewablesnetworking #CAISO #WECC #NYISO #ERCOT #PJM #renewableenergy

For #NationalEngineersWeek, AMP is highlighting engineers and their impact on the energy industry. Today’s highlights are Tommy Della Rocco, AMP Assistant Vice President of Engineering and Major Projects, and Timothy Walton, AMP Manager of Budgets and Reporting. Tommy and Tim’s work as engineers helps to reduce costs for both Members and their community. Tommy works on behind-the-meter generation projects, which help reduce overall transmission costs for participating Members and provide backup generation sources to host Member communities. “Several of AMP’s Member communities across Ohio and Pennsylvania — and soon Michigan — benefit from AMP’s behind-the-meter generation projects through peak shaving and backup generation,” Tommy said, about how his work supports AMP’s Members in preparing for the future. “Additionally, these Members can now install more generation with minimal additional requirements from their transmission company.” Tim’s work as an engineer involves overseeing the budgets for generation, and it is his responsibility to help streamline costs to run the units. In 24 years at AMP, he has enjoyed learning about new technology, as AMP’s generation fleet has grown to include multiple hydroelectric facilities, Prairie State Energy Campus, AMP Fremont Energy Center and multiple other generation sites. “My first and foremost responsibility is to look for every opportunity to help Members reduce their costs,” Tim said. “I also help with the cost breakdown for any new generation that AMP is planning to build or buy. So, when I am doing my job, I know I am helping with moving AMP forward.” Find your engineering career in public power at https://lnkd.in/gRqb7KH. #Eweek2024 #WelcometotheFuture #WeArePublicPower #PublicPower #CareersInEnergy #JobOpportunities #hiring #ElectricalJobs #ElectricalIndustry
