Thinking about sharing videos on Youtube? Check this out... 👇 I think it's safe to say that getting in front of the camera can be scary, or at least it is for me. If it is for you too, then you need to hear this. I recently hosted a podcast with the one and only, Karin Carr, a national speaker on video marketing with more than 19 years of experience as a realtor. There was one thing that Karin said that really stood out to me when we were talking. She said, "But people build it up into their heads as this horrible, big, scary thing, and then they never, ever do it. And it just... I mean, I understand why, but if they knew what was waiting for them on the other side, they would never let it hold them back." Have you ever let fear hold you back from doing something you really want to do? I know I have. And when Karin said this, I thought to myself, "Why did I keep myself from doing it? What did I miss out on by holding back?" Who cares what people think about you? Because they're not gonna be calling you to tell you... You don't have to be good at something to start. You just have to start. You want to get on Youtube? Just do it. No one expects you to be perfect. But I can tell you one thing, you will get better and it will become less scary. Don't compare yourself to others. It is after all a pointless pursuit. I was chatting with Chris Hutchings yesterday who invited me on his amazing 10Q podcast last year. We were discussing the value of staying authentic with your content and not chasing vanity numbers and metrics. Chris shared something that stuck with me. "Often when you are comparing yourself to these established creators, it's not even a level playing field anymore, there’s other factors involved and they have other people helping them." And he's dead right. Because what you see on social media is often the best version of a person. It's the top highlights of what they offer and do, you don't see the struggles or the worries or the concerns. Yet, sometimes we idolise these types of creators and take their word as the way it has to be done. What we both agreed on is this… Just because someone experiences success one way doesn't mean their way will work for you. Everyone has a unique set of challenges and each person's journey is their own. Be you. Show up for your audience. Focus on your story, not theirs. Take your own counsel on things. Learn what works for you. In the end, all the worrying we do about what to post or how to grow really doesn't matter. It's about being true to yourself and creating content that you enjoy. Last year/beginning of this year -high views, viral every week, over 1k comments, reposts, dms of people saying “I love you”, podcast over 40k streams But I dealt with… -No sales, no leads, no one in my email list, nobody is interested in my services and my business. I’m seen as an “content creator” not a COACH! -whenever I post my prices I receive backlash from those who followed me because they assumed I was a “safe space” for them to trauma bond in -Messages filled with love but it wasn’t translating into sales nor leads. Me currently -lower views, less comments, less dms, I took down my podcast, focused on tiktok for outreach, ig to connect and YouTube to teach The result… -sales everyday, new leads everyday, my business is increasing with clientele each month, found my Coach who helped me strategize - less dms and more CONVERSATIONS! I get less “I love yous” and more “where is your link?” “Where can I sign up?” -I rarely get backlash over my pricing and my offers because I’ve made it clear i am the authority over my business Viral don’t equate successful business. Did you know you can monetize your YouTube channel without 4,000 watched hours or even 1,000 subs? ▶️ Yes, it's absolutely achievable. I've guided a client to earn between £4,000-£12,000 a month, all while having just 956 subscribers. How can you replicate this success? 1. Deliver Value: This is something you've all heard before, but it's astonishing how many business owners fail to do this. 😱 2. Create something that can be bought: Seems silly, but if you want to monetise before YouTube's Partner Program, you need to be selling something. A mentorship, course or even a book. Maybe you can leverage a newsletter to get that point of contact. 🛒 3. Maximise your content: Get as much as you can from your content. For example, if you're recording podcast videos, how many pieces of content are you generating from that? A long-form podcast video can be used as a blog post, get it transcribed, as it can be used for short form content, such as YouTube Shorts.
