It's hard to talk about a century of changes for any topic, especially the agriculture industry. And what about when that century is the twentieth century? Well, do your best to make it a 30,000 foot view because that could very well be a multi-volume text. Enjoy this piece I wrote for the Jersey County Fair Association's Agriculture Education Center, where I highlight some of the changes and developments in local agriculture in arguably the most turbulent and agile century the world has ever known. https://lnkd.in/grTeyKzP

AgTech Ecosystem - if you're near San Joaquin Delta College, we're bringing our next AgTech X Ed event your way on October 2. Once again, CDFA Secretary Karen Ross will be joining us for a half day of great conversations from growers, educators, and startups on what new skills are needed to prepare the next generation of students to be AgTech-ready for the new jobs in agriculture, including building and supporting robots and helping customers figure out how and when to use biological solutions in collaboration with chemical inputs. Secretary Ross has supported over 3 years of these events, and this is the 14th event she has joined us at live to help spread the word. She is passionate about this topic and equally passionate about making sure students are ready for the right jobs and growers have the ability to identify students that are ready to work in their operations (or at similar roles at startups or manufacturers). Adding automation solutions requires adding more technical team members to the grower operations team, just like adding biological solutions requires adding more expertise to the operation through either PCA partners or direct sales and support team members. We will cover all of these topics and give you some great networking time. If you're a grower, come learn what some of the more progressive growers are seeing with AgTech. If you're an educator, learn how your curriculum can be enhanced or adjusted to improve student readiness. If you're a student, come meet with and talk live with potential future employers on the grower and startup side. #agtech #nextgenagworker Carrie Peterson Ben Palone
