Yesterday’s tragic fire at the SiLC Industrial Area in Johor, #Malaysia, where three workers were critically injured, serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with improper chemical storage. The fire quickly spread due to the presence of highly #flammablechemicals like thinners and solvents stored in one of the warehouses. This incident highlights why #DangerousGoods (DG) warehouses are crucial for industries that deal with hazardous materials. #DGwarehouses are designed with strict safety standards, including fire-resistant construction, specialized ventilation, and advanced fire suppression systems such as foam extinguishers, which are essential when dealing with chemical fires. These precautions are critical for containing potential #disasters and #safeguarding both workers and the surrounding community. In an industry where seconds can make the difference between a manageable situation and a disaster, investment in proper storage facilities and safety protocols isn't just good business—it's a responsibility we all share. Let's prioritize safety, compliance, and preparedness to prevent future tragedies. A recent chemical fire at a storage facility in Thailand tragically took a life and injured several others, highlighting the critical need for prioritizing safety measures in industrial settings. Regular inspections, conducted through programs like Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), can identify potential hazards before they escalate into major incidents. Following established safety protocols further strengthens these preventative measures. #ChemicalStorage #HSE #RBI #Awareness #FireSafety #Storagetanks #RBI #Inspection #FirePrevention #IndustrialSafety #IndustrialIntegrity

🌟👷 Ireland's Health & Safety Authority (HSA) launch a Quarry Safety Campaign AggNet reported this week about Ireland's Health and Safety Authority's two-week quarry safety inspection campaign. This campaign focuses on the management of contractors, underscoring the importance of ensuring safety in potentially hazardous workplaces like quarries. The inspection will concentrate on key safety areas such as: 💡 management and supervision of contractors 💡employer cooperation and coordination, 💡equipment safety, and personnel qualifications. With a focus on risk assessments, control measures, and adequate training for contractors, the campaign aims to mitigate hazards specific to quarrying operations. In the past decade, quarrying-related activities in Ireland have unfortunately resulted in several work-related fatalities, with contractors being involved in a significant portion of incidents. The HSA's initiative is a proactive step towards improving safety standards in quarries, and reducing such incidents. CheckProof applauds the HSA's campaign. By prioritizing safety and fostering collaboration, we can create safer work environments for everyone involved in quarrying operations. Check out the full article below.
