🌟 Herd Member Spotlight! On Mondays over in The Herd community, we send out a weekly digest celebrating wins, highlighting a few key discussions, and a rundown of upcoming events. We do this to get to know our fellow dinos and build more familiarity across the community. Now, we're bringing them here to LinkedIn so you can get to know our Herd members too! This week's feature is Joe MacMorran! 🦕 Tell us about you! (Where are you from, hobbies/interests, things you do outside of work!) ATX ➡️ Ft. Worth ➡️ D.C. ➡️ Houston ➡️ Ft. Worth. Avid Golfer (3.5 HCP), and professional musician (Drummer). Prior to Tech Sales, I was a Music Education Teacher. Love to run (3x half marathon runner), all things sports, love to cook, play with my 2 yr old daughter, and love travel or trying new foods with my wife. Fun fact: the movie Caddyshack is based on stories of my great-great-grandfather, Joe MacMorran, as told by Bill Murray's relationship with him while working at Indian Hill Golf Club. 🦕 What is a unique strategy or tip that has helped you succeed in sales/revenue generation? Find the little details about your prospect by listening to interviews they've done, pick up on intricacies in stories they've told, or find out what things they're known for outside of their profession. Leveraging this information along with warming up their executive assistant has landed me meetings with large accounts by gifting or sending the best handwritten note that was both personal and relevant to how our solution could help. 🦕 Who is someone who has influenced you in your career, and how did they impact you? My first sales manager, Payton Dickerson. She was a former teacher and we actually taught in the same city for a period of time (unknowingly). Payton was a great listener, understood that my way of prospecting and outbound was going to look different but provide strong results. There was a lot of trust and support that she provided into how I worked. It looked different, it got people's attention, and it made an indelible mark on how the rest of our organization moved forward with outbound. 🦕 Favorite dinosaur, and why? Velociraptor: swift, agile, and decisive.
