Every company from EPAM Systems to SoftServe must have award plaques with your name on them. I’d give you a standing ovation, but I’m afraid you’ll add it to your achievements! And speaking of your achievements, improving API performance "tenfold"? Did you summon a tech genie to grant those wishes, or were you just playing "Guess the Metrics?" Because I think you might be confusing real-world accomplishments with dreams and hallucinations! But let's talk about your tech skills. Java, React, Typescript... you're practically the Swiss Army knife of programming languages. Can we all agree that only someone with a resume this long has ever truly mastered the art of digital diarrhea? Seriously, scrolling through your tech stack felt like reading the appendices of a Lord of the Rings novel! Valentyn, your LinkedIn endorsements probably read like Yelp reviews for a unicorn café. "Best Scrum Master this side of the Fairy Forest!" Yet here you are, working in tech — couldn't you at least keep some mystery? Maybe moonlight as a magician or an illusionist? Because honestly, half of your innovations sound like they were conjured up at Hogwarts. And your educational background? Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, Snyatyn gymnasia? Bro, did you have any free time, or were you programmed in a lab to out-degree us all? What’s next, a Ph.D. in Making Us Feel Inadequate? Finally, with 5,800 followers, I see you're basically the Kim Kardashian of code. I'm just waiting for the day your coffee machine gets a LinkedIn endorsement from you. I successfully completed the IT Technology Marathon from EPAM Systems. This marathon was highly professional, comprehensive, and organized far beyond the usual format of lectures, workshops, or seminars. It offered a deep dive into the full cycle of application development, from concept to deployment, and provided an excellent foundation for further growth in the field. Over two weeks, we attended online sessions that covered the following key topics: - Requirement Analysis - UX/UI Design - Architecture Design - Software Development - Software Testing - Cloud Deployment Each session brought unique insights that will inspire future success. Here’s a summary of the sessions: 1. Day 1: Intro Session & Software Requirements in Scrum Speakers: Ivan Mikhieiev, Yehor Bozhok, Maryna Udod Ivan introduced us to EPAM, Yehor outlined the marathon program, and Maryna shared her experience as a business analyst, discussing Scrum requirements and the analyst's role in an IT team. 2. Day 2: UX/UI Design Speaker: Yevgeny Oleksyuk Yevhen, a Senior UX Designer, along with junior designers Viktoriia Savchuk and Anastasiia Yermolenko, explained how UX/UI design adds value beyond aesthetics, enhancing the product's usability and appeal. 3. Day 3: Software Architecture and Cloud Speakers: Oleksandr Haimanov, Roman Tkachuk Oleksandr and Roman introduced us to software architecture fundamentals, architectural patterns, and the use of Azure for cloud-based solutions. 4. Day 4: Web APIs with .NET Speaker: Oleksandr Ieremenko Oleksandr shared his expertise on .NET, guiding us through deploying a local environment with Docker, initializing a database, and setting up endpoints using OData. 5. Day 5: API Development with Python Speaker: Dmytro Torianik Dmytro provided an overview of Python tools for API development, shared coding tips, and discussed the career path of a Python developer. 6. Day 6: Web Programming Speaker: Gennadiy Shpak, joined by junior developers Oleksandr Ponomarenko and Vladyslava Kozbina, covered HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and advanced Angular concepts. 7. Day 7: Cloud Technologies Speaker: Roman Tkachuk Roman offered in-depth insights into DevOps, Terraform, Azure, CI/CD, and cloud monitoring tools. 8. Day 8: Manual Testing Speaker: Yuriy Babay Yuriy shared his expertise in manual testing, discussing essential tester skills, test design, and practical exercises in creating test cases and bug reports. 9. Day 9: Automation Testing Speaker: Oleksandr Menzerov Oleksandr introduced test automation with tools like Selenium WebDriver for UI testing, RestSharp for API testing, and emphasized the importance of continuous integration in CI/CD. 🚀 Day 6 of my 30 Days DevOps Learning Challenge Update 🚀 Today I marked an amazing milestone in my journey towards mastering DevOps! 🎉 I delved into the basics of Node.js and Express.js, laying a solid foundation in backend technologies. Coming from a JavaScript background, diving into these frameworks felt like the natural next step in enhancing my DevOps skills. Node.js and Express.js offer a robust ecosystem for building scalable and efficient backend systems, which are very important in the world of DevOps. Understanding these technologies not only broadens my technical skills but also empowers me to architect end-to-end solutions seamlessly. One of the highlights of the day was creating my very first API in the backend! This hands-on experience provided invaluable insights into how data flows between the frontend and backend components of an application, a crucial aspect in DevOps and automation. None of this would have been possible without the guidance and mentorship of Gaurav Pandey🙏 .His expertise, patience, and unwavering support have been instrumental in navigating through the intricacies of backend development. Continuing from the previous post, we want to shed more light on the topic of the source code build stage 💡 While it's primarily the responsibility of developers, a proficient DevOps Engineer should have a solid understanding of this process as they play a crucial role in setting up this stage in the pipeline. The main challenge in this stage is that each development language comes with its own builder—dotnet has the dotnet builder, Java uses the Maven builder, React employs the JavaScript builder, and so on. However, there are a couple of solutions that can simplify the process by taking a more universal approach to problem-solving, such as Gradle, NPM, etc. It's important to note that these solutions are universal only within specific domains. For instance, NPM is a universal solution for building the Web UI part based on JavaScript, like Angular and React, while Gradle is a universal solution for Java applications, including Kotlin, Groovy, Android, but it isn't suitable for building, for example, dotnet applications. This presents a challenge for the DevOps Engineer tasked with setting up this stage. While one approach could be to consider it solely as a developer's responsibility, allowing them to set up the stage similar to their local environment, we firmly believe this isn't an ideal solution. Developers often use local configurations that may not be suitable for stable multiuser work, leading to pipeline instability and potential strain between developers and DevOps engineers. A more effective compromise in resolving this challenge could involve using universal builders, as mentioned earlier. In this scenario, the DevOps Engineer establishes general cases for running the build process based on these universal solutions, enabling developers to describe the build process within these predefined parameters. Benefits of this compromise include making the DevOps part more predictable, easier, and stable.
