Comic Agilé no. 56 - The Agile Island (reshare) In order to avoid creating an isolated agile island, when initiating an agile transformation, make sure that your pilot delivers end-to-end value and, if needed, spans across the company (e.g., following a Value Stream). Thus, the success of the pilot is a cross-organizational one. This will make it much easier to expand the scope of your transformation to other Value Streams or products afterwards. #agile #agileisland #comicagile

Living on an island is an opportunity to create a "New World" but it often create misalignment with the broader organization, leading to disconnects in priorities, pace, and decision-making.

Hmmm. I am not sure whether I agree with this one. To get a quick win, start with an island, such as a development team. That's where Agile began. You may not be delivering end-to-end value right away, but you will immediate benefits in morale, and soon after in quality. The question will then arise: "If we are building things so well, why are we not delivering value?" So you will identify the organizational impediments (budgeting, HR, marketing, etc.) and will address these as needed. Finally, you will be able to scale horizontally and bring new value streams on board.

...And does the top-left image fit well with the notions of i) Flow, and ii) Autonomation? 🤔 Nope? I think these problems might have been solved more than 50 years ago. Clearly, 'somebody' didn't want them solved 😉
