Why Restaurants Are Screwing Their Customers In 2024 1. Portions are shrinking. Ever feel like you're being served a child's portion in a restaurant? Still hungry when you've finished? 2. Poor service. Reduced staff/wage bills is now common. There's simply not enough staff serving customers. Takes 20 minutes just to order a drink 3. Food quality has dropped. Where did all the best chefs go during Covid? Back home, abroad. More often than not, food gets sent back to the kitchen. 4. Prices have gone through the roof. A very average meal for 2 is £100 minimum. 5. Shoving on "service charge included" onto your bill, is downright rude. I'll decide what tip I want to add. Especially if the service was poor.
