A Consequential Education at Gettysburg College makes an impact for our graduates long into the future. In a report by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce: ROI of Liberal Arts Colleges, Gettysburg College is ranked No. 29 and No. 32 among liberal arts colleges for 10-year and 40-year Net Present Value (NPV), respectively. Net Present Value (NPV) refers to how much a sum of money in the future is valued today when taking into account costs, future earnings, and the length of time required to invest and earn a specific amount over a fixed horizon. In an analysis of 40-year return on investment (ROI) of 4,500 colleges and universities, Gettysburg ranks in the top 1% in the nation among liberal arts colleges for lifetime ROI, according to the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. The Early College High School agenda is one of many failed Gates-funded reforms that have been scaled across Texas. Texas ISDs and community colleges are enticed by the ability to double-dip funds as an incentive to adopt the model. The proof is in the pudding that it does not work. Texas State Technical College, which entered South Texas last fall by offering three programs in New Braunfels, has found a permanent home. It plans to build a permanent campus in Seguin where it can continue its expansion of course offerings in the region.⁠ ⁠ The school, which has 11 campuses around the state, said Wednesday it’s working to build at a site on Texas 46, which runs from Seguin to New Braunfels. ⁠ ⁠ The campus could eventually have several thousand students and the college plans to continue using its current New Braunfels location as well, Provost Mike Anderson said.⁠ https://bit.ly/3VDyScJ

Across New York City, tens of thousands of students are already experiencing the benefits of taking college courses while in high school—developing valuable skills, saving time and money toward a credential, and building a foundation for rewarding careers and long-term economic security. Richmond Hill High School's Early College initiative has taken off and created opportunities for students to take college classes during the day. Our Robust Dual enrollment strategy has yielded positives outcomes and an increase in post-secondary retention.

In addition to my post last night indicating I have updated my list of DI FBS schools without an "S" on the end of their mascot (15), I also created a new page of the 4 colleges in DI FCS and 7 in DII that also have no "S" on the end of their mascot's name. How many of these 11 can you name - don't look down. "As you look over the 11 below, note that 4 of them are Bison and 3 are Storms (2 of these "Storms" are modified by adjectives - Savage and Crimson). There are actually 5 bison pictured below, but one of them is called something else (see SOSU). Furthermore, I think Slippery Rock might be the only college in the nation for which their mascot not only does not have an "S" but also refers to their mascot in the singular. A new brief from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill highlights the potential of paid residency programs in Texas to improve student achievement and teacher retention. Key findings include: 📈 Higher student achievement in classrooms with a mentor teacher and paid resident. 🏫 Improved teacher retention, with mentor teachers 5% more likely to return to their schools.
