Understanding what your customer needs. A simple statement, that isn't always that simple to put into practice. Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to host the product launch of the new Mastersizer 3000+ with the team at Malvern Panalytical And what Malvern Panalytical did, shows how much they care about what their customers aim to achieve and do. Customer involvement to them, meant....  - Asking their customers: what does a good or bad day look like for you?  - Can you explain your workflow to me? And how can we help you simplify that?  - What are the trends in your laboratory and what does that mean for your work and your team?  - Showing beta users prototypes and asking for feedback, including how would this bring value for you? - and probably many more questions. Curiosity and the will to really get to the core your customers' mission and challenges. Bringing value to the market. A deep understanding of the possibilities and limitations of a specific technology for an application. And a design thinking mentality. That is what drove this team. The result is what excited the customers during the launch event. I had such a great time at the CPOHQ Elevate Conference this week. Met a ton of amazing CPOs and have lots of great nuggets of wisdom and tactical advice. Joseph Q. and the CPOHQ team knocked it out of the park -- loved the small group setting, deep dive sessions, and the high quality of speakers at the event. Thank you for putting in all of the work to make this event so amazing. Some of the learnings: - Simplifying work will create a strategic advantage and develop great culture. There are lots of different tactics and ways to start (killing stupid rules, ghostbuster committees, cut the crap committees, etc). - Create longevity in the people programs that you implement by really focusing on and tying together the people and business impact, and swinging for the fences in what you're trying to achieve. - We are going to go from the concept of 10x to 100x talent in short order. Start investing in a talent strategy and the tools, programs, and training to make sure to stay ahead of the curve. (including using AI as a core skill within your company) & the biggest risk to business is not thinking big enough in everything that we do. - A relentless focus on talent density is what has stuck out to Board Members and Investors as one of the things that great CPOs do the best ... and much more!!

Crafting effective champion is the key to success in sales process.  He/She is influential person within your target company.   a)     The seller in your account b)     Has access to the Economic Buyer c)     Has a vested interest   What to ask? How important is it to you that this gets done? Are you able to help me share the value of our product with others in your organization? Can you introduce me to (the economic buyer)? ...and remember: "no champion no deal"
