Fabcon was FABULOUS! After a week in Vegas, I’m home and I spent some time reflecting what my learnings are from the event. Here are my top 5 takeaways: 1. Relationships are key. I met many teammates and partners throughout the conference. Seeing the team in person collaborating and planning. I felt like I got so much done this past week and feel completely energized. 2. Direct lake is a game changer. Users will experience first hand the performance improvements of queries and to drive business insight. 3. Unity catalogue with Fabric integration reiterates the better together story of Databricks plus Fabric. Customers can experience the best of both Databricks and Fabric. 4. Dare to be bold. Despite being less than 6 months generally available, the Fabric conference was a smashing success. 4200+ attendees. This speaks to the growing community and drive of the team to deliver a successful event. 5. Always be forward thinking. Fabric is a success we need to continuously look forward and shape the market as opposed to reacting to it. See you next year! #microsoft #databricks #microsoftfabric

🌎 I was in Orlando last week at a conference and was asked during dinner: what is the most fulfilling way in which our Edge Delta team has helped a customer in the last year? The amusing thing was that my answer was comically basic, but fundamental. To illustrate, I love to use the example covered by Werner Vogels during his keynote at the last Re:Invent conference. With the next one just over a month away, it's a great time to highlight it. (Btw - if you're in tech and use #aws, I would certainly say you should watch the entire talk, it's definitely time well spent) 🏘 This is such a good example of the phrase "out of sight, out of mind" as it pertains to our human nature. These two subsets of houses are extremely similarly insulated in most ways (doors/siding/windows/roof) and yet somehow one group was using 50% more energy than the other group. Though initially perplexed, it was discovered that the only significant difference was that the group that used more energy had the meter in the basement. It was observed that simply seeing and understanding your own behavior had a massive impact on such behavior. So what does that have to do with Telemetry Pipelines?
