I was sitting on this park bench today thinking about the difference between having valuable content AND getting that content into the right hands (ears, eyes, etc). It's a big difference unfortunately. And as I mentioned previously, I do NOT think that our attention spans are getting worse. I think that it's a consumer's content market. Dylan Schmidt and I talked about this in a lovely coffee chat (not recorded) recently and he views things similarly. We as content consumers do not want to wade through invaluable content. Moments of fluff are passed quickly while we search for the bits that will help us, move us, change us. Yes, I said change us, because that's what content often does. It transforms our lives in some way. That's why it's so powerful. Making valuable content is that first step in getting people's attention but it's NOT the only step. And that's where my conversation with Vicki Weinberg began. She has the valuable Amazon Seller content for her audience. In abundance. But her YouTube channel needed the initial nudge that they all do. I gave her some recommendations specific to her channel, her audience, her project. And because I'm in massive experimental mode with YouTube myself these days, I've got so many ideas to pass on. That's the thing folks, as much as we want certainty, there isn't a set way to do x,y, or z with content right now because like our IRL world, things are in massive flux. Experiment is the word you're looking for. The mind set you need. The actions you need to take. Certainty, BAH, it does not exist. To get the YouTube algorithm going, as Vicki is starting to do, you need to experiment with different things. Check in on them to see how they're doing. When something works, do more of that. When something doesn't, move on to another experiment. I'd love to tell you something more certain. Something concrete but the only concrete thing in this fluid world is change. So why not embrace experiments then? The full session with Vicki is below. And if you're an Amazon seller, you're going to want to follow her ASAP as well. Join me on the park bench to brainstorm how you could experiment with your media growth: https://lnkd.in/dwZZ5WzV

I loved all that you shared Stephanie Fuccio. I've been putting it all into practice. It turns out experimenting is fun! 😀
